For those that havent read my comments in another post i decided to start a fresh one.
6 am last Saturday i was woken by some swine who wasnt there beating the hell out of my elbow and thumping my chest, by 7.30 my wife had me in a&e in Gloucester, by 9.30 i had had a nice ride in one of those big yellow and green taxis with noisy horns and bright lights to Bristol Universty Hosptal ccu (god bless nutsoid female paramedic drivers). Several hours later after 3 inconclusive eeg tests and two blood tests was transfered to a coronary ward to await echo tests and angiogram dye test with possible stent, unfortunately for me i have had no furthe pains which makes me non urgent and so still waiting in the early hours of Tuesday wide awake (slept too much during the day) .
Myself and my beautiful wife would like to thank all those who have sent good wishes and to assure you all that i aint giving in to this and fully intend to be back anoying you all by driving a truck thats in your way just as soon as the medics allow

Hope they don't find you're fitted with those pesky PD jets which are causing the tickover problem ;D
Hope they figure it out and get you back to normal Bryan, best wishes for recovery.

I don’t think we’ve met Bryan but you seem like a fighter and I wish you well.
If however you don’t make it, can I have your bike?
(No malice intended just an attempt at light ‘hearted’ good humour).

Best wishes for a speedy recovery 👍

Great stuff Bryan, if they still run Cardiac Rehab courses like the one that I went on after being discharged I can highly recommend them, it taught me quite a lot and got me a lot fitter than I was before the heart attack.
Cheers

Ecellent. Nice to get to the bottom of things and find a reason for the scare..

Looking good, follow docs advise and don't rush recovery. Glad to hear things are on the up.
-
Great to hear your on the up Bryan :)
-
Yes, i had the same problem, not a heart attack, through a routine check up it was discovered that i had hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (a thickening of the heart walls), as i was a PSV driver i had to undergo various test, ultimately it's down to your cardiac consultant who will forward his assesment to the DVLA, and their medical board will assess what risk you will pose. Although they will look more favourably on a car/motorcycle licence.
Sorry to put a bit of a downer on your plight but you are on the road to recovery and that's good.
Chin Up,
Adrian.
-
best wishes Brian,
the docs will load you with pills to take, including statins,
good to keep your cholesterol below 5 ish .

Good news Bryan and as the other's, extended best wishes for recovery and getting any licence consideration achieved.
As some of the others have written above, check up for anyone is worthwhile.
A friend took his son to eye test and the person carrying out that test looked at his ( the father's) eyes because he could see something which he thought was serious. Turns out he had blood pressure right at the upper extremes of reality, this was they thought hereditary. A question to his own father was answered with a "yes i've always suffered, and been medicated for it" he was walking through life just about to explode with no knowledge of it. Close shave but accidentally caught in time.
Another friend had experience as Bryan described, woke up in mobile bed and people all around him. These were not strangers though, he a working paramedic was surrounded by his own colleagues that saved him. He'd been self medicating with paracetamol for a longer term persistent headache, ignoring that little statement on the packet "more than three days use, then go see your gp" kinda stuff. He'd suffered a brain bleed that came sucrose to getting him. We joke that (he's always been known as a a budgie on account of general wittering on persistently) it was only the beginning of rigamortice in his little birdie claws that has stopped him dropping off life's perch, while gently swinging upside down!. It was really that close. Has has recovered and is back doing the same job now. So great outcome.
A reminder to others of taking advantage of health checks, even if nothing is apparent.

Thanks for the update Bryan, I do like my patients notes to be written contemporaneously.......
Try some low fat cottage cheese with the cardboard, it may help a little :-\ :-\ :-\.
Take it easy but keep active too and get back to a healthier you ASAP.
