Like it or loathe it, I say what I think and I will not be bullied by those telling me to wind my neck in or or get back in my box or by the petty insults and accusations. People will either accept this or not that is their choice and I will not bend to the mob. Neither do I collude or collaborate with any other members on this forum for those who think I do.

That’s a great job Chris.
I’ve sent that picture to Jim.

Cheers Steve he will be happy to know it has a new lease on life as he didn't want it to end up broken for parts.

Fantastic rebuild. The CBX550F's were real lookers and a lot more stylish than the GPZ550. The fairing gave them a race looking presence like a mini RCB. Is that an original exhaust, where did you get that from! The inboard front brakes are now becoming the choice brake for vintage/classic shed builds because they give the impression of being a drum brake if done right. Great job, well done, that's a keeper for sure.
The exhaust came with the bike but needed a little work. It is not a 550 exhaust it's from a CBX400. and was a real pain to get on as the header pipes are shorter on the 400 than the 550

Thanks and yes John it is the 550 it's the one Steve put up for sale I think over 4 years ago and this has been the first winter without any notable health problems. I am thinking of selling the 750f1 as it's getting a bit much when it comes to moving it about. This could become the go to bike.

It actually looks quite nice. Would the what looks like Hammerite finish on the dash be a factory finish back then .

Who said GB500TT??
This was my GB400TT in the same colour scheme, which prompted me to do a kit for the 400/4

I quite fancied one for a long time but they rarely came up for sale.
