Does anyone know the correct way of fitting the lower trims to the 750 fuel tank. They are these David Silver reproduction ones.

Not sure quite how to do it as they don't appear to sit flush to the side of the tank. Are they meant to be slid under the metal hooks on the bottom of the tank feeding in from the back? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers.

From memory, you bend the metal tangs back carefully them crimp them onto the trim - primative but effective. Doesn't seem right when you've spent all that money on the paint!

Thanks Phil. Did you manage to get them to fit without any gaps showing. Wish I had opened up the clamps before the tank was painted.

Yes Roy (and they were the DS repo's too)

Ello,Slightly off topic did you paint the black inside the transfers before or after applying them?
-
It’s recommended it’s painted prior to decals being fitted!

The black was painted first, then the blue metallic, then the decals were applied, and then finally the whole lot was clear coated top and underneath.

Thanks for replies.I've a K5 bought with a fair amount of missing or wrong parts fitted. ie your petrol tank tap opening is a different configuration to mine,I've threaded spigot.

Is the valve on the same side. Sounds like an earlier tank.

No.my spigot is on the left hand side.I'm going for the easy option and apply K2 transfers.Spent far to many hours on the tank.
