Recommended Sources for Parts and Services / Later CB750 exhausts.
« on: June 23, 2022, 01:25:26 PM »
Just heard from Colin at Predator Motorsports that he has received a batch of CB750 exhausts for the later K3 onwards bikes (I think). Had mine on order with him since last November. He has a few left that were not pre-ordered so be quick. Tel: 01707 334090

CB750 / Shims
« on: June 09, 2022, 04:19:36 PM »
Can anyone identify these parts. They are three thin shims, one with what looks like and abrasive ring, one with a raised centre, and one plain. They cam off the replacement engine and were on the output shaft either behind the seal or behind the sprocket. Cant find them on any parts diagrams, and they were not on my K5 engine when I stripped it.

Before I do anything that causes damage a bit of advice. How do you remove a notchy bearing out of this casting. I'm sure somebody has found a way. Cheers.

Desperately Seeking!! / Vesrah head gaskets.
« on: June 04, 2022, 09:55:46 AM »
Has anybody got a supplier for 750K5 Vesrah head gaskets. I have an Athena gasket set that mainly looks okay but the head gasket appears to be slightly ropey (it has rust patches on two fire rings that wont clean up). I would prefer to use a Vesrah as that's what has worked for me a few times before. Any other suggestions would be good, as having to replace it again later due to the usual weeps would be an engine out again disaster. I would like to use Cometic but they don't do a standard size gasket, and what about the CycleX's own gasket.

Desperately Seeking!! / Done a silly thing
« on: May 07, 2022, 05:49:11 PM »
Last week I did a silly thing. The two axle spacers on the rear wheel were covered in thick black grease so I put them in degreaser in an old Chinese meal container. Come bin night I decided to throw out the old container forgetting that the two parts were in there. And out with the trash they went. So has anybody got the two spacers on the rear axle going spare. They are part numbers 42605-300-000 (rear axle sleeve) and 42311-300-010 (rear wheel collar). Thanks.

Desperately Seeking!! / Alternator cover.

CB750 / Taper head bearings.
« on: March 13, 2022, 09:24:37 AM »
Just removed the old head bearing ball races from the frame. On the lower one there is a round spacer underneath the bearing, does this stay in when fitting taper roller bearings or do I need to get it out (see photo). Also, which taper bearing goes to the bottom, thick or thin. And where do the sealing washers go.

You know, I have done this a dozen times and I cant for the life of me remember how they go. Memory must be failing along with the rest of me. If it needs to come out, I need to do it quick before it goes for powder coating.

Misc / Open / Just got boned
« on: March 07, 2022, 04:29:56 PM »
I need my carbs doing, so as Gerben did such a good job last time I thought I would use him again. What a mistake that was. I sent two sets of carbs to Gerben in Holland to make up one good set via UPS. Just had to pay £92 import charges into the Netherlands then I assume I will have to pay the same coming back. After having to buy replacement carbs in the first place, with Gerbens charge, plus replacement parts, and two lots of government rip off, these carbs will have cost about £650. That will never happen ever again, once bitten etc. I wouldn't mind but I sent them as a gift. What a rip off world, nothing has been bought or sold here yet they want that amount of money. This is simply sending items from one person to another with no financial transaction taking place. Bas***ds.

Edit: Just tried to contact UPS both via email and phone. Impossible to get through with either unless you enter a 6 digit account number that I don't have. Looks like the thieves win again. And yes I sound bitter, that's because I am bitter about it. It appears that Holland have there own ideas on charging import duty different from the rest of the EU. So beware, it's best to just not send things to the Netherlands as the customs there is a mess.

CB750 / Clips
« on: March 06, 2022, 02:01:46 PM »
Is there a supplier that sells the intake rubber hose clips a bit cheaper than the usual suspects. As I need 12 in total it's a bit much paying £9 each (DSS). I notice the old trick of buying a cheap set from Cruzinimage and just keeping the clips is no more, they now also supply them without the clips.

CB750 / Cush drives
« on: March 05, 2022, 01:22:06 PM »
Just getting round to removing the CB750 rear wheel bearings. Got the fine thread retainer out without too much damage but cannot get the sprocket side casting out of the old cush drive rubbers. I am starting to use too much force so thought I had better stop and ask if this is a regular problem and how to get around it. Shouldn't the cush drive plate just lift out of the rubbers or have I missed a fastener somewhere. Cheers.

Misc / Open / Plastic parts
« on: March 04, 2022, 04:20:09 PM »
What's the trick for getting black plastic parts looking like new. Things like rear mudguard and airbox. They look much better after a good wash but return to looking dull when dry.

Desperately Seeking!! / Oil pipes
« on: February 14, 2022, 07:57:53 AM »
Does anybody out there in Honda-land have a decent useable spare set of oil hoses that would fit a 750K5 that you would be willing to sell. Or even a set of end castings maybe. Thank you.

Misc / Open / Cruzinimage shock
« on: February 12, 2022, 04:24:08 PM »
Just went to place an order on Cruzinimage.net and had a bit of a shock. The total for the order was 257 dollars, they wanted 210 dollars for shipping. Wow, what a rip off. Needless to say the order was cancelled. No point emailing them, they will only ban me off there as well.
