Most motor factors will sell a mineral oil, you may have to get 15w40 instead of 10w40 but thats fine. My local place(try not yo use eurocarparts) charge £15.46 plus vat for 5ltr, just dont say its for a motorcycle or they get worried as they dont have recommendations for that tell them its an old Ford or Vauxhall.

Thanks for the replies.
I’ve looked at the various TomTom and Garmin units and there doesn’t appear to be a lot of difference in features and price between the two across the equivalent model specs when you take discounts into account although £350 plus for the top models is still too steep for me.
I’ll check for used ones first in the usual marketplaces.
I do like the free lifetime Map, traffic and seed camera updates from predominantly the Garmin Units though.

I am pondering the purchase of a bespoke sat nav for my riding.
Garmin and TomTom appear to have the monopoly.
If anyone is using one what are your views -The Good, The Bad and The Ugly?
Any recommendations or advice would be appreciated.

Why not try blasting it out with the small red tube from the WD40 down the hole?
Just make sure you have a suitable tray in place to catch it if it flies out.

I used 2mm cross section x 5.5mm Viton on mine with no leaks.
Readily available on eBay.
The four rings for the metal fuel inlet tee piece are not included when you get a full set of Keyster kits as I found out recently.

If anybody requires any, i mean any sort of welding even fuel tanks PM me and i will pass on details of my mate who has his own engineers shop set up in his garage, welding , turning ,bending ,rolling making He will have a go at anything and he is very very good If he cant do it, he won't attempt it He has done loads for me and other members Don't waste money buying new Repair and keep it original Sorry this sounds like an advert But I'm only trying to help members Thanks Ross

My 400F is 1976 and has the frame hoops with bolt on bracket. According to the frame number it ties in with a late UK spec F model following the relocation of the rear footrests to the frame hoops. 🤔

If you buy any multimeter make sure it has a 10A DC current range as that is really useful on bike stuff (some are only short duration measurement of the full 10A but that's not a problem with bike related tests)
Also low ohms resistance measurement capability for checking coils etc. (e.g. Honda ignition coil primaries typically around 5 Ohms).
The Screwfix one is the LAP MAS830B and these are the details of DC Voltage, DC Current and Resistance ranges from the manual. EDIT: It would have been nice if I had actually included the details. 🙈

You dont need anything that good i get them for about£5 then a pp9 battery, only 2 readings you use, ohms for resistance and dc volts.
Screwfix have one @ £9.99 and Halfords @ £8.00
