Had my frame, swingarm, battery box, engine brackets, brake stay, guage bracket and sprocket trim blasted and powdered satin black by these guys.
It came out great. All masked too (missed the seat bracket studs).
Cost me £70!
I was slightly dubious as that seemed very cheap but they have done a great job. Seems tough as hell! Maybe ever so slightly thick but for a rider its spot on.

Wow. It would be worth me driving to Chesterfield from the Kent coast when I start my 550 project !!!. Could probably have a week in a spa hotel as well and it would still be cheaper than down my way. ;D ;D ;D

They said it would take 2 days(ready on a wednesday) but took them till monday. Still only 5 working days though.

However I couldnt get through on the phone, only tried once and then I just popped down as there only 5 mins away.
Turns out they have also moved round the corner from the address on site.

Damage it with a scratch and run over with a blow torch and, it will melt back to perfect ;)

Everyone says that but on a rider, what does it matter. Just touch it up with paint. For a painted frame, an invisible touch up is more work than it would get anyway. Whatever the frame coating, scratches will only be touched in.
The cost of blasting, and then primer and paint, thinners etc it would have cost more to paint and it wouldnt have looked as tidy as this. If id paid to get it painted it would have cost alot more than £70!
On a proper full on correct resto that wont get ridden, yes, paint but if you want to ride, powder.
I did some powder 20 years ago when I worked at a platers. The first item off the oven was sacraficial. We would beat hell out of it with a hammer. If the powder failed before the metal deformed there was something wrong and the batch would be re done.
I dont see the coating (if done well) chipping anyway.

I didnt know that, makes sense though. I might scratch it somewhere hidden and practice that. Might be worth getting a bit of spare powder too.

If you want super tough. We used a nylon based paint on motorcross frames. Bloody pain to get off even with a blow torch.

Interesting. I tried to contact them by email a whike back being local to me but no response. Probably worth pursuing from what you say though.... that price seems almost too cheap!

They are now on sheepsbridge lane. There are signs up but they are easy to miss.

I just checked there website and they have updated there address so maybe the numbers and e.mail will also work now.
