Title: Conversion coating for Alloy .. Alodine 1201

Anyone ever used this or know where to obtain this product in the UK?

BONDERITE M-CR 1201 AERO (Alodine 1201)

Even though it's pretty nasty stuff it can be applied with a sponge so no spraying involved. I reckon you would get superb adhesion of paint to alloy if you used this to prep the alloy first
