Humour / Your choice of bike manufaturer
« on: August 20, 2017, 06:16:17 PM »
It would seem that your choice of bike manufacturer determines your future happiness or otherwise (In the case of shitalian bikes or Suzuki) Shamelessly nicked from the C90 forum. [ Guests cannot view attachments ]

Announcements / Nearly a year!
« on: July 17, 2016, 09:28:21 PM »
On a serious note for a change. This coming Wednesday, 20th July, it will be a year since we lost Bitsa (Ralph Wright) :'(. For those of you who have joined in the last year, you will never be able to ever understand the humour and comments that man made on this forum, and he would help anybody, anytime, in any way he could (Except for Bikepusher!) He also rubbed a few people up the wrong way with his comments and odd sense of humour, like telling people to get off of here and work on their bikes, or better still ride them! He also had a fanatical hatred of pattern parts to save a couple of quid when genuine was still available, and many people have learned why buying duff parts!. I reckon that July 20th should be marked as "Bitsa Day" on here permanently, it would be a nice tribute to one of the nicest people that I never got to meet, and I'm sure his widow would be happy to know the positive impact he had on so many of us here. So what are the thoughts of other members?

Misc / Open / Cowboy builders?
« on: July 11, 2016, 09:34:23 AM »
Landlord at the house we live in decided we needed a new kitchen and bathroom. Great news we thought, but what a nightmare it has been, and talk about bodging! The electrician came to do the wiring, cut chases in the plaster for the wiring, and then the kitchen fitters came in and mounted the units before the plasterer and flooring people came. Result is a total mess, the plasterers won't be able to do the areas behind the cabinets, and it seems to be very bad practice to fit the base units before the flooring. What do you guys and girls think? Do they qualify as Cowboy builders?

Humour / The people of Dover speak out!
« on: August 09, 2015, 03:09:46 PM »
It would appear that U.K.I.P. had more influence on the residents of Dover than was first reported. Below is the new sign for the white cliffs they voted for to be erected soon.

Humour / Sunblock advert?
« on: August 09, 2015, 10:33:19 AM »
My good lady and daughter are both redheads, and getting my daughter (she's 12 and knows EVERYTHING!) to use sunblock is like asking her to fly without wings, she wants to look like all her mates, skimpy tops and a tan, this has hooefully changed her mind!

Misc / Open / M.O.T. and Tax exemption?
« on: October 26, 2014, 11:34:22 AM »
Just found this survey the Dept for Transport are doing, asking opinions on E.U. proposals that vehicles 30 or more years old should be exempt from M.O.T. testing and road tax. It's obviously been kept hush hush, as you only have until the end of this month to respond! http://www.dft.gov.uk/classic-mot/survey-classic-vehicle-exemption/   While free road tax is a great idea, I'm not too sure about M.O.T. exemption, I mean, can you imagine the wrecks suddenly coming out of scrapyards and back on the road? :o While most of us on here can and do keep our bikes in fine roadworthy condition, imagine a car or van driver, say for example Mr "I will get round to sorting those spongy brakes and dodgy steering when I can afford it", crashing into your prized  sandcast, or any of our bikes? His insurer would want proof of when the vehicle was last serviced/checked over, and it would be an easy way for the insurers to avoid paying out, so you lose your ncb, or worse if you have third party fire& theft, you lose everything you have toiled over. I do feel we should all put our views across, before the Govt close the door on this one! ???
