can someone remind me how you work out what bearing it is you need is it the number on the side of the con rod and the letter on the crank

all sorted tapped the filter in engine put new bolt in all seems ok no leaks when it was running so i,ll change oil and filter at week end and check again  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

no need for wood block engine is wider than the frame so it will rest on the frame

not been on the floor and yes thread gone on bolt and case not a happy chap i spent 8k building this bike with all new genuine parts that took 10 years to find now i,m trying to find some engine cases with the same letters on the bottom case so i dont have to work out and find some new shells again

ok peeps i just rebuilt my top end i had an oil leek from some where so i just started it up it ran soon as fuel got into the carbs i rev it and there was 1 small pop from the engine then i noticed oil all over the floor i noticed the oil filter was loose but i never touched it on the rebuild at all the thread on the bolt is stripped so could the pop i heard been the bolt popping out is if could there be anything i,ve done on the rebuild to corse it to happen

10 washers are part number 90441422000 the other 2 part number is 90442377000 thoise two have a seal in the middle i am looking at a full set of new washers for my engine rebuild

spray the numbers with carb cleaner it will stand out till the cleaner runs off it always works for me
