Misc / Open / insurance rip off ????
« on: September 03, 2008, 10:48:40 PM »
OK we all know the ambulance service do a great job and I have had to call on them myself once or twice. However on my way to the Manx gp this year I had to take evasive action to avoid an ambulance that was going through a red light at a junction. He wasn't doing 90 or anything and neither was I cos I heard him coming . I saw him a bit late tho and had to anchor up a bit quick and the damn bike slid out from under. My gripe is that Bennetts tell me they operate a no blame policy towards the anbulances so I have to go through their underwriters to sort it myself. WTF do I pay my insurance for if it isnt to sort that out for me. Heh am I a grumpy old man or what.

New Member Introductions / Yet another noob
« on: July 27, 2008, 12:27:36 AM »
Hi my name is Malc and Andy1976  and I have already chatted in the forums he helped get me some new pistons for my 77 cb750 f2 a picture of which I will add to the gallery when I figure it out. I tried an avatar in my profile but that didn't work so it could take some time :(  I'm from Coningsby in Lincolnshire near as dammit and at present own a 98 trophy a 68 bonneville and two 77 cb750 f2's in varying states. Trophy is my current taxi , the bonneville is a sorry mess and the honda's both need engine work, but they are coming along nicely. Well thats me folks hope to chat with some of you in the future.

CB750 / F2 exhausts
« on: July 10, 2008, 04:50:17 PM »
Can anyone out there recommend an exhaust that looks even remotely like the original and sounds as good as I remember they used to. One of mine was made in derby by a relatively obscure firm and the other is a bsm exhaust which is a bit fat and ugly, so neither are really what I'm after but they will have to do till something else comes along. I put 250 quid on a genuine silencer on ebay a couple of weeks ago but I didnt get even close and it didnt have headers(front pipes)either.
