G’day from Perth (Oz) just wondering what you know about the vacuum gauges you recommender . I see they are in Queensland and not on the market yet . Any info appreciated .PS i bought a few postie bikes at Auctions as Australia apostles where changing to the Honda Cub . I still have one great fun .

Bought The CB400/4 with reg/rect off Honda integra 1985 it says . Birdsnest of wiring so put new harness on and new reg/rect to suit . Upon fitting blows a fuse and said reg/rect is letting current both ways on one of the diodes . The Old reg/rect which is testing ok and came with bike has an extra wire than the DS one I bought . Would any one know if I can use it on the new loom and which wires go we’re ?thanks if you can help .

When I checked my compression not long back it wasn’t in the 150s you got me worried now ! And my 400/4 is just standard . No fancy bits Agh !

This is the Starter Motor I got with the bike a few years back .Dont know what the Home Made holes in the back end are for but I think it is knacketd !

Well , while I’m on a roll . New regRect has a diode problem now . It’s letting current both ways on one diode . Just wondering if it’s going to damage the battery ? Help !

Bought bike a few years back (not running ) and on handing over cash got told (oh! there is a small short ) Well after putting on New battery new wiring loom new fuse box new reg/rect the Bloody thing would start then battery would go flat after a short ride . So last time it happend a mate says do you think it’s the starter motor ? No I says as it starts the bike . Well guess what . I changed the starter motor and it must have been the propblem as it turns over twice as fast now and doesn’t let you down after a short ride . Also on inspection some one had drilled two small holes in end don’t ask me why but that must have been the problem . So advice is look for the obvious and don’t buy a none runner unless it’s cheap (and mine wasn’t ) Happy riding folks ! PS flashers would also freeze when starter gave up ghost making you think it was the battery . No it was the flasher unit . Talk about coincidence Agh !

Hi got the same problem (sort of ) indicators would flash a few times then freeze so put two pin flasher unit on (second hand ) and Indicators work a few times then freeze again . I gave unit a flick (with finger ) and hey presto they work but for how long I don’t know !

Well , after testing A/C Generator which was OK . Testing regulator/Rectifier which was fine it turned to wiring from Loom to generator . The three yellow connectors needed a good clean and the green and white wires one was broken so after cleaning and soldering . Alls well how’ve battery is charging .It was a good learning curve . So thanks again guys and a big thank you to BryanJ .

Green white black wires to unused regulator ? Weather here Down Under is still Hot . 2 degrees would be welcome here for half an hour !
