Is the substantial extra cost of using Simichrome paste instead of Autosol justified. Experiences anyone?
-
Autosol is £4 in Wilko's at the moment though.

OK..Simichrome is about £10.00. But is it a lot better?
-
Following with interest.
-
Bathroom tap polish, cheap and works great, even on yellowed stainless exhausts.
-
Nothing wrong with Autosol been around for decades
-
Autosol, used it in the sixties on the V. venom, does what it says on the tube, and leaves a protective finish for a while
-
I'm another Autosol fan, though if there is something better I am willing to try it, though polishing bikes does not do it for me anymore, once a year when I take the bike out of hibernation is enough for me.
Cheers

Solvol for me too. It can be harsh on chrome though if you use it all the time.
-
I with you there Dennis. A quick once over is plenty.

Once a year at most on my bikes 😊😊😊 I absolutely hate cleaning bikes. (My car has only had one wash in 18 months 😂😂😂)
-
Solvol is mildly abrasive so i don't use it on chrome, i use furniture polish on chrome and Solvol Autosol for aluminium followed by Belgom Alu that contains wax. By the way it appears that Autosol no longer uses the name Solvol and is made in Germany by Dursol Fabrik, but i still call it Solvol.

I wondered where the Solvol bit had vanished to.

I only use Solvol on alloy, for paint and chrome it is old fashioned Turtle wax only.
