I still braced myself when I hit the button though! As I was finishing the job I saw a movement out he corner of my eye, one of the courtyards squirrels I'm building up trust with was sniffing around my tool bag!
And jumped skyhigh as the bike started?

If you think of the main lead as one continuous from battery to starter motor,  then the solenoid just interrupts this route to enable you to switch it on and off.

So it'll go, ( batt+, solenoid,  then other side of solenoid,  starter motor+) the smaller solenoid wires just pull the switching in and out on command of starter button.
Excellent description, just start connecting them from the startermotor up and all goes well!

CB350/400 / Re: Fitting Tyres
« on: October 11, 2018, 04:31:38 PM »
Swarfega is soap? Never use soap, thát makes your rim rust, always use special tyre grease or tyresoap, available at any tyrecentre and carshop. It's cheap, and I use the same pot since the stone age.
Use pieces of garden hose, slit lengthwise, to protect your rim.
1. warm may be easier, never do it myself.
2. also grease the tyre edge, not only the rim.
3 and 4. okay, i always put (some) air in the tube, to keep it far from the edges.
5.using levers is good, use long ones, ( it is like hammers, it's better to hit softly with a big hammer than hard with a small one,) be smart and lube them too.
And puncture repair kits are cheapest at most bicycleshops....

Battery + terminal?

Anyone know why automotive fuses, the type fitted to the early Hondas have a wide foil like element, rather than the single wire?
To keep it from failing due to vibrations...

Interesting ! I have a German acquaintance that informed me years ago that all the K2's in Germany were just late 1972/1973 units. Did yours have the very late engine numbers 24***** and the later head and barrels ?
It will be interesting to get some information listed on K2's sold on continent.

Do you have any old pictures ?
Do you realize what you're asking, how long ago that is?
Amazingly i found the vin etc. in my 'archives' , chassisnr. was2093091 eng. 2344603,
Ishould have a pic somewhere, not like it was when i bought it (candy gold) but as i rebuilt it after i dropped it at some 130km/h-around 80mp/h.
Special paint and a 4-1 exhaust. I'll have to start a search, when it takes more than a week, start a rescueparty.......

It even has the wrong tank badges ( correct for a late 1973/74/75 ) as we were the only country still getting the K2.
On the continent we also got the K2 until the K6 came late 1975.
I bought a 1974 K2 secondhand in1976.....

Before buying a new master, i'd start with checking if both little holes in the bottom of the reservoir are open, if either one is plugged it won't work.

CB750 / Re: CB750 Head Gasket copper or not ?
« on: September 18, 2018, 10:05:19 PM »
I made a copper gasket in the eighties, after upgrading to 836cc. and putting in a sports cam and Kawa carbs.
The main idea was the re-useability, as the wiseco gaskets were quite expensive.

It is a really tight fit, best is to remove the large oval rubber from the rear of the airbox (is easy to replace later through the empty airfilterbox).
