CB750 / CB750 engine speeding up
« on: September 03, 2019, 10:08:09 AM »
Hi all
my F1 on standard setup has a small niggling start-up running problem which your thoughts would be appreciated on. when starting (with choke) starts and runs on first touch, take choke off and ride, after 15 mins or so, the engine speeds up from 1500, to 2500, reduce tick over adjustment screw, and all is great as normal, but when stored and restart, you have to readjust the tick over screw again to gain revs to 1500 and start the same process again?
any ideas please?
thanks

CB750 / Fuel additive
« on: August 28, 2017, 12:28:45 PM »
Good morning all, do any of you use a fuel additive (leaded fuel additive) I am unsure whether to add some to my 1976 F1, or is it needed at all? If so, what would you recommend? would the newer fuels run hotter and possibly damage the exhaust seats?, the lead in the older fuels was also a lubricant I believe.
Thank you all in advance

CB750 / front brake F1
« on: July 09, 2017, 12:07:10 PM »
Hi all the front brake is sticking 0n on my CB750 F1, moves ok forward, but can feel resistance when pulling the bike backwards? not sure where to start, front caliper or master cylinder? not a lot of resistance, but enough to fail MOT (all seals replaced on re-build).
thank you

CB750 / starter clutch CB750F
« on: July 28, 2016, 09:23:14 PM »
Hi All
starting the engine is getting worse, push button, then horrible noise (sounds like starter clutch not engaging)? what parts would you suggest I should try and source to fix the problem? I think part No  28120300000 is the main item needed, but no stock anywhere that I can find (any ideas on where to get one). and is it an easy repair?
Thank you all in advance

CB750 / choke dropping
« on: July 17, 2016, 10:35:31 AM »
Hi All, yet another issue with the carbs, No 1 choke seems to drop out of its slider bar (small bar inside carb from choke leaver to choke), therefore choke on all the time. I have taken it all apart and cant find any real issues but have replace the choke and link bar from another set of carbs, but it has done the same again? any ideas to solve this would be appreciated.
Thanks

CB750 / carb help please
« on: July 02, 2016, 08:33:30 PM »
Hi Guys
I am having problems with No1 carb. it seems like its not letting fuel through. normally to test this you can undo the balance screw and squirt some WD40 or similar into the hole and if the engine picks up, you know fuel is not getting through. but when I undo the screw, the engine revs up and exhaust gets hot without the added WD40 (normally it would slow a little before squirting the WD). in some ways this is good news, but where should I look for the fault/blockage-airway? any ideas/solutions would be welcome.
Thanks in advance

CB750 / headlight glass
« on: February 07, 2016, 01:13:28 PM »
Hi all, The headlight on my CB750F1 1976 does not have a place for the parking light bulb? when looking at replacements, they seem to be convex, and mine is concave? it has K4 made in Belgium on the rear. I have taped it to try to see what it is made of and not sure if it is glass or metal?
Can anyone offer any help please
Thanks

I don't want to sound defeatist, but does anyone know of a good tuner who can help in the Essex area please.

CB750 / compression test results
« on: November 23, 2014, 01:36:08 PM »
Hi All, I have just completed a compression test and found that the results are, 1-2-3 test gives results of 138psi. no 4 is at 150psi, after placing oil in the head of each, the results go up to 175psi (test done with engine hot). I have checked my Climers manual, and although it tells how to do the test, it does not give what the results should be (except + - 10%)? the problem I have been having is coked up plugs, and trying to determine what the problem is (even though it does not appear to be oiled up plugs), thought it best to check anyway as this is the easiest test) I have also moved the clip on the carbs to the highest setting, and this does not seem to have solved the issue? any thoughts/help would be appreciated.
many thanks

Hi All
I am looking for new main jets for my CB750F1 (1976) The standard is 105, and looking to go down to 100. E-bay and the like do have loads of jets for the Keihin carbs, but not specific to each carb type, so do not know which to order? any help would be gratefully received.
Thanks
