CB750 / Carb jet sizes
« on: August 10, 2014, 05:00:15 PM »
Hi All
I am looking for new main jets for my CB750F1 (1976) The standard is 105, and looking to go down to 100. E-bay and the like do have loads of jets for the Keihin carbs, but not specific to each carb type, so do not know which to order? any help would be gratefully received.
Thanks
John

CB750 / weak spark
« on: June 27, 2014, 02:17:56 PM »
I All, I am having problems in starting my CB750F1, the spark seems weak? I have changed the coils, points, condenser's, plugs and caps, it does coke up a little as well, and after setting the timing and carb settings, the only thing left was the weak spark which would cause both issues. anyone got any ideas please?
many thanks, John

CB750 / plugs coked up
« on: April 14, 2014, 06:13:56 PM »
Hi All
can anyone advise what I would need to do with the spark plugs getting coked up? I have fitted a new exhaust which I know will be the cause, and not sure whether I should re-jet the carbs (if so anyone any idea of what size I should get(CB750F1)), or could I just re-set the needles as it is obviously running rich. any help as always, gratefully received.
Thanks
John

CB750 / Honda CB750F1 pics nearly finished
« on: March 08, 2014, 12:36:07 PM »
Hi All, not quite the standard colours, but started first time with still the mudguard problem, but thought you may like to see the result so far? The exhaust is from Carpys in the US, easy to fit, and does sound great. (have used the baffle as is very loud without) (cant use the centre stand but great quality stainless steel).

Hope you like what I have done.

Hi All
Nearly there, just a few more little bits to sort out, one item needed is the grab strap for the seat of an F1, well, the brackets are a must as they have gone rusty. does anyone know where I can either get a strap complete, or just the chrome fittings? Looked over e-bay and cant find a good quality set?
Many thanks for your help

Hi all, can anyone help locate the `jubilee type` clips that go on the carb boots. David silver is out of stock, and would like to get some soon if poss. Also at £8.34 each (need 8) seems a lot of money for a clip? any help would be appreciated.

CB750 / alternator wires go through where?
« on: December 23, 2013, 08:49:25 PM »
Hi All, just put the motor back in and started to wire up, but should have taken pics!! where do the alternator wires go through to get to the main board? there is a large gap in the chain cover top, but I think this is just for the battery wire? Looking underneath the motor, there are some wire clamps on the opposite side of the engine (bottom right if sitting, front and rear) and wondered if the wires go under the engine, and back round and up to the main board? any help would be appreciated please.
Thanks for your help and a very happy Christmas to you all.

CB750 / shieding
« on: October 26, 2013, 02:22:48 PM »
Hi, I have a similar question to Billy, not with which wire goes where, but with the shielding of the cables? in the wiring diagrams, and the wires that came off from they had a sleeve (they call it shielding in the book) that went over them (yellow wires from generator), was this just to protect from chafing and would plastic sleeving be OK? or is there a special type required (the one that came off was a web material) and for a different reason (if so, does anyone know where you can get it please)?

Many thanks

CB750 / wiring question
« on: September 07, 2013, 06:05:42 PM »
Hi, I have just started to place the wiring loom in place and done some continuity tests and found I am getting earth readings from the black wires? the only switches that are attached are from the front end, ie lights, indicators ignition switch. I cant see from  the wiring diagram that this should happen, but may be wrong? green wires also show to earth. I also get a lower reading from the yellow wires from the alternator/rectifier when connected together (from earth).
I could check each wire through, but hope this may be normal?
I have also bought a second hand regulator and think that the top cap had been put on the wrong way round with the green, white and black label on the opposite side to the three connectors? I have changed the cap round so that the green lines up with the `E` tab, white in the middle (wont change anyway) `F` tab, and the black to the tab with no marking which I believe to be for the correct wiring of the unit?
Any help would be appreciated
Many thanks

CB750 / Drive chain sprocket
« on: August 28, 2013, 04:26:25 PM »
Hi All
Just started to do an engine strip, it will be slow coz I have other jobs on the go. I have taken a look at the front drive sprocket, and this seems loose but there is no adjustment. should this be a tight fit with no movement? (side to side movement approximately 4mm)
Many thanks for your input.

Hi
I need some help on fitting the cush drive rubbers on the CB750F1, I have got some new rubbers, these are the same as came out, but the others were squished. It seems very tight if you try and push the two parts together, is this normal?
