On the 550 the switch is on the oil pump so after it is main gallery to filter.
I have seen bad primary chain wear on the gallery to filter but not yet one worn through

If it is ok with no shoes fitted and done up tight it cant be bearings or brakeplate.
It is possible that the shoes are too wide, you could put a smear of coloured grease( coppaslip comes to mind) on the edges of the shoes and see if it transfers to hub or brakeplate, i have also had shoes where they dont sit properly on the cam as they are fractionally too wide, you said you had to thin the hole end so leave springs off and see if the flat pads sit asquare on the cam.

We are at the mercy of the manufacturers and suppliers of pattern parts who dont seem to take as much care in manufacture.
When available i always use Vesrah, they seem to be a better maker

The brake binding is not present until I tighten the axle as I increase the tightness the binding starts.
To make sure it was not the bearings  I removed the linings re-fitted the brake hub - all free.

The only thing that really changes when it is tightened up is the inside edges of the brake shoes are closer to the inside of the wheel. There is no sign of any lip on the liner.

Where the liner meets the wheel internals it looks visually good with no sign of any lip. It might be worth doing some very slight sanding on the inside edge of the brake shoes or even a light  shamfer on the outer circumference/edge of the  lining.

I did wonder if I could mark the outer edges with some yellow road chalk and see  where it transfers to.

If its running OK I wouldn't worry about it but if you are drain the tank and add it back a bit at a time over fill ups diluting even further if you don't  want to dump a tank of fuel

I would make sure it doesn't get too hot.  In effect you are running lean as there is less petrol to air.  Once, I put too much two stroke oil in my moped and it got very hot and seized up.  Not helped I imagine by the fact that I would run it flat out all the time.  ;D

I cant see any practical problem if it runs ok. It'll just pass through with no real effects generally at that level.

Just topping it up as its used should get hack on track with dilution at that level.

iF there's any immediate affect, thats usually cold starting with the mixture less likely to fire competently and possible white smoke evident from diesel not burning in cold combustion chambers.

At the end of the day it’s 1 litre in 14 so 7% so reckon will be ok from what I have read.

If it runs bad will drain it off but seems to be running fine. One of the benefits of old tech like ours here is that there no fuel pumps, injectors or catalysts to worry about. Modern vehicles are just less tolerant.

Will be more careful in future.

Good plan to change oil etc.

Filter comes before the pressure in galleries and switch ... it shouldn't be impaired, but can affect this area.

Oil, if its many short runs and rich (on choke etc) then dilution won't be helping you with pressure. Also the reason why compromised oil from dilution causes wear to bores, bearing etc.

Good baseline to change oil and then assess what the status is before further consideration.

Smell the old oil vs new to give an idea if it's petrol-ee  :) and give you some level of confirmation if its significant.

Oil pressure will reduce as the oil gets hotter and "thinner". It's worth checking the switch and the oil pump.
If they are not the problem you might have a bigger problem developing.
