If its the one I'm thinking of, I don't know the chap personally but I had conversations with  him on FB last year. He did an engine overhaul but didn't change the valve guides and she smoked really bad but he had ran out of patience and enthusiasm with it last time I heard, so maybe he did do the work eventually, if its the same bike of course . It looks lovely and worth every penny if you want something a bit different.

A lookalike that looks good, but not fully original.

Let me guess, the clutch cable outer is the wrong colour? ::)

Like Julie I was in touch with the guy selling this bike when it first came up for sale last year. He was selling it then for £5999 with a rebuilt but smoking engine. We exchanged mails back and forth when eventually he told me he had lost patience with it and would I make him an offer. I did but it wasn’t enough and he was considering breaking it. I did advise him at the time to join the forum for some help and advice, I don’t know if he did?

The bike re-appeared on ebay a few weeks ago and it appears from the description the engine is now running sweetly. The CR carbs had however been replaced with the standard carbs and the Marvin exhaust had also been replaced with a chrome item. I think the price was still £5999 but it didn’t sell.

So now it’s back again but with the CR carbs and the black Marvin exhaust refitted. The price has also gone up another £251. It is a lovely looking bike for the money and there are some very nice parts on it and it is clear the builder has lavished a lot of time and money on it. I remember the Harriers when they were new and they were stunning then and this one still cuts the mustard.

How much does an original Harrier cost, I’ve never seen one for sale?

Tank has scoop out along bottom edge. Never noticed that before on Harriers. Was it part of the Mocheck  conversion back in the day?

bobv7, minor details are not what I was on about, more like non original exhaust, carbs, all the transfers/badges, overbore size, camshaft and more, and I don't really care about originality, my 400/4 has only the crankcases and tank standard, everything else is none standard.
