Title: spares hoard
Post by: mickwinf on December 05, 2020, 04:33:26 PM
Just picked up a load of spares for 500/550 as a job lot, including an engine plus extra head etc and lots of other chassis and brake parts. I will be selling some of these to re-coup the cost so if anyone needs anything specific just ask.

hi oddjob its a 550 engine.

found some treasures in the pile, an undamaged fuse box cover which will go on my F2, and also a pair of headlamp brackets for F2 and K3 which seem in good condition except for a slight rust patch which may be a hole. Also a rear brake drum for the earlier 500/550 with the flat brake plate and the liner seems to be not cracked. Just having a look at the complete engine, it does seem to be seized up so investigating.

Long shot but have you got rubber spare fuse holder that goes in tool tray on 500 Mick?

Hi Mick
Is there a rear mudguard and lamp from a 550 in there?

Post by: mickwinf on December 06, 2020, 11:53:44 PM
yes there is but has some damage at the end, mudguard is a k3 one i think with three holes. I have two lamp brackets, one k3 type which has a bit missing where the number plate mounts, the other is a chrome US type and in good condition

Hi oddjob, sorry to hear of your health issues, i will have a close look at the journals and the fork ears, although another member has first dibs.

Bad news ken, the journals are fine but on close inspection there is a chunk broken off at the edge, not sure if it could be welded. I have put a pic of the damage.

Hi Mick,

Do you happen to have a spare stator cover that is undamaged for a 550F?

Thanks

Perfect thanks Mick, Other things I'd be interested in if you have any or are willing to sell. An oil pump assembly for the 550F and the neutral switch mechanism (just the sheet metal part that makes contact with the rotor wheel. Also if you have the left crank case cover that'd also be good, I have one but its pretty beaten up.

Let me know

Cheers

hey Topcat, i had a look at the alternator cover but it has some damage, no oil pump, i think somewhere i have a neutral switch but seem to remember it was a bit bent so Bryans new one might be better. I have a left cover which is good, no deep scratches, will need polishing.

Hi Julie, the hub is the earlier type with the flat brake plate, it has no bearings in but i have most of the bits if you need them. did you need both chain stoppers?

So the hub is 500 four (323) ? Is the brake liner cracked or badly worn ?
Yes please Mick, the two stoppers and the tool box mesh holder.  :-*
