Title: Shipping advice
Post by: K2-K6 on January 26, 2011, 07:51:29 PM
Has anyone practical advice about shipping a bike to the USA?

Mainly about crating up, no fluids etc, how to pick up from domestic site once crated (no forklift) any advice about shipping companies.

Thanks.

I looked into shipping my 550F2 to Australia but the cost and the red tape at the other side made it a no go so I reluctantly sold it.

Thanks for the response.

My situation is that I've got a stored bike which is owned by a friend who lives there and has decided to ship it so any stuff at the other end will be handled by him, my main concern is to get it packed so that it can travel and not get dameged etc.

Thats a big ask from him, i wonder if a big main dealer would let you have a crate/ box that a new bike has come in, then you could at least get it packaged properly
