Hi UK Pete
I have had the head skimmed but not the barrels, the problem I'm having is that the head bolts feel very tight and are nowhere near the correct torque (about 10lbs). Should I tighten them down gradually or just go for it and tighten them to the required torque as soon as they start getting tight

CB750 / CB750 ss cylinder head tightening
« on: January 17, 2013, 07:23:31 PM »
Hi Guys
Has anyone out there had any problems tightening the cylinder head nuts, are the studs prone to snapping or do the stretch, I notice they do sell them at David Silver so are they something that should be changed after taking the engine apart or is it OK to use the old ones. Any info would be gratefully received

Hi All
Tried to start it by spraying easy start into the carbs and notice that the vapour was not being sucked in as expected but being force out so I am thinking the valve timing could be out by 180 degree's. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated

Hi All
As mentioned in previous posts I am restoring my CB750ss, well its all back together and looks really nice but and its a big BUT, it will not start. The engine was stripped during restoration and has been rebuilt , timing was checked and double checked before I put it back in the frame, points have been set correctly new plugs, plenty of spark and fuel.Yesterday I was tinkering with and when I checked the plugs they were as dry as a bone. Any ideas please cos it's doing my head in...  >:( :'(

Hi Both
The sticker is situated between the clamps, done a bit of research and I think it was the Honda Motor Company sticker
