Looks in good order that one :)

I nearly bought one a couple of years back, but a lot of the ones I went to look at had cosmetic issues. Corroded fork legs, rusty fasteners or tatty exhausts. Hazard of living in London. That one looks mint.

Congratulations, the best bike Honda ever made in my humble opinion. I bought one new in 1998 and sold it in 2005. A decision I regretted for year's after, the Triumph Sprint ST I bought to replace it had a great engine but the finish was poor, even the stainless discs went rusty within a year! I bought a 1999 FiX model last year that it's a minter with only 20k on it. It's a fantastic bike, build quality is the best I've seen on a Japanese motorcycle. Only niggle is the stock seat that gets uncomfortable after an hour. I bought a s/h Sergeant seat from ebay, a great investment, so comfortable, it's like an armchair!
I live in London but had to travel to Halifax to find an unmolested example, great ride home though 😁. Enjoy yours and don't sell it😉.

@Laverda120 seems you had the same issues I did! I had to go to Ripley for my Hornet 900 in the end as well.

Reckon we must be neighbours in the North London rust belt

I have stock bars on mine and they are really comfortable. Have your forks been raised up through the top yoke, difficult to see from the photo?
I also fitted a MRA screen as the stock screen was just the right hight to send the wind up under my helmet and induced uncomfortable wind noise (I'm 5'10" and wear custom made earplugs). The MRA screen worked wonders and has an adjustable deflector but I think it's a bit of a gimmick, it doesn't appear to alter anything no matter how much I adjust it! Next item on the must do's is to get a new rear shock, not sure what to go for, Hagon, Maxton or A. N. Other? The stock shock is well known for calling it a day at 20k and not the best item on the bike, that honour goes to the jewel of a motor.
Apparently Honda lost money on every cam gear drive VFR ever built as it was so well engineered following the VF750 chocolate cam issues.

I agree Sump Magnet, buying bikes and cars in the London area is a mugs game, sellers add a 20% premium to their price! I live in Ruislip, Middlesex. Close enough to get to Central London but far enough away from the serious crime!
