I like the look of this, very different to the usual rebuilds.. my vote goes to the velocity stacks..... that top end looks a bit dirty unless its just the photo, maybe a full engine strip down would be a good idea.. Good luck, keep the updates coming!

Thats the plan bro, gonna do a full rebuild, gonna be a challenge :)

Just look in Aladdin's Cave for manuals.  :)

I have it as a PDF, just prefer a hard copy :)

*Update*

Started pulling apart the engine, I noticed the case was damaged as I pulled of the starter cover. Hopefully this isn't to hard to fix?!

I also seem to have lost my shop manual, god knows where it could be! As soon as I get another copy sorted I shall be stripping down further.

What about these ?

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-CB750-F1-F2-SOHC-1976-1978-Engine-Oil-Tank-Hoses-Delivery-Pipes-Lines/312514891351?epid=20030007030&hash=item48c356ce57:g:1AkAAOSweTlcfWq2

Just cut the old pipe off and re-tube with new braided stuff will cost you about 35 quid per pipe to re-tube at you local hydraulic hose supplier.

Yep, this will probably be the way i go :)

They should clean up quite easily with degreaser and a bit of metal polish... the bowls usually come up very bright with a bit of a polish.. no point going mad with the polishing though, as they will soon tarnish and settle back down to a standard greyish look. With some fresh rubber boots and bright hose clips they will look great.

Thanks, just waiting on a few parts before breakdown and clean!

Went through the big box of bits I got with my bike today. No idea where half of it came from?!

So its been a hell of a while, new job and new house took a lot longer to get sorted :)

Small update from me, Garage is now finally ready for the CB750 frame and engine coming out of storage this weekend. Bench was built by my brother in-law and myself, only cost around £50 as he had lots of free wood :). Still not the biggest space but should be fine for what I need.

First job I want to get sorted is the carbs. This is the set that came with the bike, from what I can see right off the bat there are a few missing bits, a couple of nuts, throttle return spring and plate spring setting. The plate I just got from Germany for a stupid price, but oh well! Thinking about Chroming the bowls and maybe painting the screw tops black.

Apart from being filthy the carbs look good, took the bottoms off and looks clean inside, I'm still debating a full rebuild. I guess it will come down to if i used a bread box or velocity stacks and therefore might need to use different jets.
The options I like are both from http://www.steeldragonperformance.com and sexy as hell.

I'll update again after the frame is on the bench.

In regards to the above set of carbs, I'm planning on taking of the mount and giving then a good clean. I might paint the bowls and round tops black, im not sure yet.

What would be the best way to clean the crap off, just degreease and a stiff brush?

Trying to stay clear of cheap shoddy gaskets. For both my Harleys I use and love James' gaskets, unfortunately they don't seem to do anything for a CB750.

Could someone recommend a good brand to use?
