Project Board / 1975 CB750 K5 Chopper Project
« on: May 22, 2017, 09:36:19 PM »
So here we have what will be my first bike build project and I warn you know I will be learning along the way! It's also worth saying that my wife and I are in the middle of moving from Brighton to Bedford to be closer to family, this will take a while!

That's the bike as it currently sits, I also have 3 boxes of bits which have everything else in.

Things I'd like to do to the bike:
Engine refurb
Paint engine in VHT wrinkle paint
Powder coat frame
King and queen Seat
Bigger sissy bar
Forward controls
Coffin/Peanut tank
Dual Carbs
Springer or Girder front end

Any help or advice about the above list would be greatly appreciated!

So I've started making a list of all the things I would like for my CB750 chopper build, high on the list is I the potential to run dual carbs. I was curious if anyone here had done it and also if any UK companies sell a full kit? I know Cyclexchange do a kit http://www.cyclexchange.net/Honda%20Twin%20Carb%20Page.htm.

I think you will have a job on also getting these from cyclexchange, my mate has tried to order 2  full exhaust systems from them recently for 2 cafĂ© racer CB750 projects & he could not get a reply from them so after several emails with No Reply from cyclexchange he gave it up as a bad job... :(

Eek not great! Luckily I have a mate in the states who i get everything posted to then he posts it to me here. Means I can sometimes get stuff from eBay.com/craigslist quite easily. Also seen a guy selling some on the honda choppers FB group, lets see if he replies :)

CB750 / Help with engine number!
« on: May 20, 2017, 03:12:14 PM »
Hi guys,

Could someone with more knowledge than me just confirm what year engine this number is CB750E-2425584? 1975?

Just looking for conformation really as I keep seeing a few different numbers and the V5 is saying something different to what I think it is :)

I was under the impression a bike had to be registered before Jan 1st 1977 to be able to use a silver and black numberplate, but I've seen bikes on here and other forums which are way younger than 1977 rocking one, are they just chancing it?

im asking due to the bike I just bought being registered in June 1977 and I really want one!!

Hey man, I recognise the eBay seller, I always think hes a little over priced if I'm honest! He does get some good stock though!

I've bought a project recently and been looking at forward control kits, so far the best I can find are made and sold by TC Bros in the states.

They are a lot less chunky than others I have seen.
