Hi everyone,
I have a cb750f2 build on the go at the moment,
Bought as a rolling frame and a box of bits. Been slowly putting her back together and one of the scores of bits missing was rear master cylinder.
Managed to find one in the states needing overhaul.
I’ve drilled the old piston out but managed to balls it all up by drilling the first part of the cylinder to wide so piston rubber has to much play.
Has anyone got any solutions for this problem?
Is it possible to get the cylinder bored out slightly bigger then a new sleeve inserted and welded at that the top ?
Thanks

Thanks Rob, it’s not that one tho. It’s for a 1978f2 (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200111/9fbb224a9c4bc4d9a87b9fa5ab30e1bd.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200111/9fbb224a9c4bc4d9a87b9fa5ab30e1bd.jpg)

I think a GL 1000 one will fit and if you dont want concouse one of the cheap chinese scooter rears can be made to fit with simple brackets

Thanks Bryan, the GL looks the same bolt positions although I think the fluid reservoir will not fit correctly into the area behind the were rear brake/foot pegs connect onto, the ally manifold in picture (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200111/e812bc149237355c6336b97a8e2b6b03.plist)

Oops, sorry mate....I didn’t read carefully. I would be tempted to do as bryanj suggests and use either a new Chinese unit or try to find a used jap alternative at an auto jumble. Good luck with it.

The CX500 uses the same disk and caliper so possibly the cylinder will be the same. Worth checking out.

Late models and the Turbo version.

Just as rare as the F2 one i would think

About 2 years ago I replaced my F2 rear caliper with a CX unit and there were loads about, but I think your right as I could only find one now. Maybe should have kept quite about it as the F2 boys were not aware it was the same caliper back then. ;D
