CB500/550 / CB550 fork oil seals from AllBalls (kit 55-108)
« on: March 11, 2019, 11:09:48 AM »
Does anybody have experience with oil seals form AllBalls?
It is kit 55-108 : https://www.allballsracing.com/55-108.html

I'm looking for seals that has lowest possible friction to maximise sensitivity of fork. Anyone who has them? Experience?

Note:
I have low sensitivity from fork on my CB750K7 (seals are the same as on 550), I'm suffering from seals having too much friction and as consequence, fork does not react on small road irregularities, I feel all of them on handlebars.
Also Hondaman confirmed this issue and recommend to search for low friction seals. Unfortunately I was unable to fing any with silicon...

CB500/550 / CB550K1 real wheel disassembly - how to remove flange?
« on: March 10, 2019, 08:59:01 PM »
Tried to disassembly rear wheel today, did not manage to separate final drive flange from hub...

Do I need to remove bearing retainer & bearing? Looking at diagram, it should not be needed, or?

I'm trying to remove item pos 10

CB750 / CB750 K7 lower handlebars (european standard)
« on: February 20, 2019, 10:01:49 AM »
I have genuine US model of K7, means higher handlebars.
These are too high for me, would like to fit lower, like european K7 models had.

I did not find any good stock ones for sale, so looking for aftermarket.
Can somebody recommend good aftermarket ones? I'm sure it fits from other CB models, but dont know from which.
Was checking DSS and CMSNL but did not find clear reference to aftermarket alternative...

K7 has cables routed on outside of bars, so no holes needed. Concerning width, I'd like the same as stock or wider, definitely not narrower.

Just add
I found meanwhile on DSS 2 types of european handlebars:
- for CB750 K2 : FDBAA-300-610P https://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/CB750K2-FOUR-1972/part_188998/
- for CB750 K6 : FDBAA-390-620P https://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/CB750K6-FOUR-1976/part_188997/

Enybody knows the difference? Raise hight / width / holes?...

CB500/550 / CB550 K1 USA - Air filter
« on: January 31, 2019, 10:02:31 PM »
Hi all,

since today I have o top of my 750 K7 also 550 K1, so new project is starting  ;)
Started to list works to be done, spares to buy... a lot to do. ::)

First hesitation is Air filter (OEM Honda Air Cleaner Element 17210-374-003 or 17210-374-P00) no more available, I looked at HiFlo, they dont provide too.

So, which brand/type would you recommend? I want to keep bike stock...

Thanks

CB500/550 / CB500K3 identification help
« on: November 30, 2018, 01:59:58 PM »
Hi
can someone confirm this frame & engine is "matching" model CB500K3 European model (has label on rear frame, not on the head):
Frame: CB500K-1001xxx
Engine: CB500E-2201xxx

And also confirm model year / year of mfg?

Bike looks like CB550K four (4into4 exhaust like on CB750K7, idiot lights & ignition switch between clocks, CB750K7 style front fork & flashers) but is declared as 500K...
Ideally if somebody can post pic of stock original one CB500K3, would be great...wondering especially how rear flashers & rear lamp looks like on stock original one?

Thanks
