Title: CB500/4 K1 clutch cable
Post by: JezzaPeach on August 31, 2019, 10:57:42 AM
Hi I missed some posts on the clutch cable route and despite my comments, have found mine uncomfortably stiff on a longer run. Will try taking it round the headstock and report back!

Having said that, if replacing, does anyone know of the best, smoothest, cable to use?

Also while taking off the left cover, I think I’ve seen a comment that the adjuster/actuator cam bits can give less leverage as they wear?

PS right side of stock better, helped by angling the lever down more, plus a bit of slack so the release is smaller to grip.
Inner cable sheath is shot so still need a cable!

Genuine Honda are the best cables to use, top quality and you know they will fit properly!

And they last a looooong time. Is DSSs really OEM?

Sliver lists loads of parts as OEM when, they are not. Lists primary chains as OEM and they come in a clear snap bag. I use the Honda ones and it is totally different. I used to get piston circlips from Sliver and they came individually in a Honda bag now, still listed as OEM they come in a snap bag of 8 ordered. Honda said, that they can't do anything about this as he is not a registered Honda dealer  :o

I asked because I sometimes don't know what to think of the partsnumbers DSS use.
