CB500/550 / CB550K Frame Question
« on: October 22, 2016, 11:55:05 AM »
Hi all, I'm thinking of getting some leather bags made up for my 1978 CB550K cafe racer. The bags will attach to the inverted triangular section of the frame where the air box sat. The guy who makes them already stocks bags for the CB500 so my question  is this --is the triangular section the same on both the 500 and the K3? Thanks fellas.

CB500/550 / CB550 K3 footpegs mounting bolt - help needed
« on: April 13, 2016, 07:13:23 PM »
Hi all, I've decided to lose my rearsets and revert to standard foot controls. I've managed to source all the parts appart from the rear engine hanger bolt which the front footpegs attach to. DS don't stock one but a company on eBay have an M12x360mm in stock which is threaded on either end. Anyone know if this is the correct size?
Thanks for your help.

CB500/550 / CB550 K3 Exhaust options
« on: November 11, 2015, 05:34:35 PM »
Hi all, I'm looking to replace my exhaust system and would appreciate any advice. The bike is a '78 which has been given the cafe racer treatment and I'm thinking something a bit shorter than the current Motad system would look good. What are my options? I've looked at both Delkevic and Marving systems on eBay and also found a Predator system which I think is my preference. Does anyone have any experience with any of these or are there any others which might be suitable. Should mention that I've also looked at Carpy's exhaust but worry that it might cause problems come MOT time. Cheers. Gaz.

New Member Introductions / Newbie North Wales

Hello folks, I've just bought myself a CB550 K3 which has been given the cafe racer treatment - I guess not everyone's cup of tea but it does look pretty and it's a look which I've always liked. The names Gareth and I live on the north Wales coast and have been riding about 25 years. Whilst the bike is more or less finished, there are some tweaks I'd like to do to make it mine. Anyway, great forum and I'm sure I'll have lots of questions. Cheers.
