As interesting alternative Ted

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/390062925510 these are flank drive and very low profile ratchet head for access.

Another point for interest (I've already had an alternative manufacturer set like this) is that they make extremely good plug spanner setup for these 4 cylinder Honda engines, with the "pass through " arrangement being able to use the extension and a socket to drop over the plug .... being hollow, both item ... to make very useful reach and access for those two central plugs.

You'd need to check that plug facility yourself though as mine is a different make (now not available) Bahco also owned by SO too.

I have a cheaper Bahco set it was about £20 back in 2021 not sure why this one is so much more expensive.
Not sure what they/yoou  mean by "pass through" ?

Why not? If you can design for whole numbers you can design for half way

The fact that the L was a half grade came from the same reptat suggested d7ev to me, and that man knew how to read plugs

Thats noted on some published charts too .... the -L designation.

https://www.ngk.com/ngk-spark-plug-numbering-systems this lists that design element, although note that they have a statement of NOT being NGK USA official scource.

The listed data looks comprehensive though.
Compare the above to what they gave me as answer, after I took the effort to contact them.
My question was:
      Dear Cust,
Here's a question owners of motorcycles that had the NGK D8ES-L sparkplug prescribed, never had answered:
Is the  D8EA plug, as far as heat range, the same as its predecessor D8ES-L?
In addition:
Is the D7EA plug just a renamed D7ES, or does the  -A suffix ('Special Design') imply the D7ES was indeed modified?
Core of our uncertainty is, that we have no clue what the meaning of 'Special Design' is.
We realise it may be difficult for you to find the answer. You may have to consult older employees who can remember. Somebody must know.
The issue has been debated over and over in various fora around the world (Germany, Holland, France, UK and US) and no NGK chart ever solved the uncertainty. https://www.ngk.com/ngk-spark-plug-numbering-systems

And here the answer:
     Hello,
Thank you for contacting us! D8EA had a heat range of 8 and D8ES-L  heat range 8.5. The (L) stands for Half Heat Range.
As a Distributor for NGK the  -A suffix ('Special Design') is still a mystery to us. You will have to contact NGK directly at 1-877-473-6767 ext #1 or www.ngksparkplugs.com they may have more details on this.

Personally I find it hard to believe that the D8ES-L has heat range 8.5.
Your comments please.

They are the same I have. Tip: use a little vaseline, silicone oil or similar inside the upper sealing rubber before you screw the HT wire on. That rubber seal is a bit tight and could therefore resist slightly and give you the feeling you are already there, when in fact you're not. Then you would have a bad connection.

Received these, both appear genuine and boxes too, both with unpainted NGK logo

London's Mayor is up for election next week.

Sadiq the Idiot will only be in power if people vote him there. Or worse...don;t bother to vote, thus once more allowing a vocal minority who DO vote to dictate who is in power.

I would like to think the Mayor of London (and therefore the head of TfL who are responsible for bus lanes) will implement the use of bus lanes for motorcycles if that is what the outcome of the public consultation decides. Unfortunately the Mayor of London does what he and the minority with the loudest voices want not what the majority have requested through a democratic process. The expansion of ULEZ is a perfect example of his thinking. Prior to the expansion of ULEZ TfL posted a public consultation paper asking if the taxpayers and road users of London thought the ULEZ expansion was a good idea. The mayor received something in the region of 14,000 responses to the consultation of which over 10,000 were opposed to the expansion. This was obviously bad news for the Mayor and his cash cow idea so he ignored the majority and implemented the expansion of ULEZ anyway giving people just eight months notice to get rid of their allegedly polluting vehicles and buying something compliant. The values of old cars plummeted overnight whilst the values of compliant vehicles massively increased, if you could find one. Still, every cloud has a silver lining and as if by magic your otherwise dirty polluting vehicle the fumes of which allegedly kill people can become clean if you pay the mayor £12 a day 🙄.
I hope we are allowed to use all the bus lanes in London instead of just a few that a poorly signposted but I think London will be excluded from any legislation on the orders of a dictator Mayor.

Plus 1 for Avon Skin so Soft. The midges don't bother me much but they really go for my daughter!
The East Side of Scotland doesn't have the problem. 👍
