So I take it that's a "yes" then. Thank you all for your comments but please stop the replies as I am now totally confused and thinking of fitting a diesel engine in my 500. All I wanted is a reliable spark now and again and ended up with an O.U. coarse in electronics!! P.S. If Oddjob is still getting prices for bulk buying the Hondaman system please put me down for one.

Oldboy is bound to be really confused now, i believe he is going to buy some fishing tackle , take the bike to the nearest lake throw it in, cast a line and hopes it will be hooked and come out sorted. Your not far wrong, never seen a thread go off at such a tangent!!

Do all the electronic ignitions have built in advance/retired or do some still retain the mechanical??

For's and against of electronic ignition. Does it warrant the price, do they run any better, are they trouble free or do I stick to points, (which have been trouble free, so far!) I've updated to modern rec/reg so just wonder if I should go the whole hog. Opinions please.

I wasn't going to get Kibblewhite guides, just looking on the site and notice they only list one guide for both In and Ex. Standard guides I assume will be different lengths, but are the O/d's and I/d's the same??

Been look at Kibblewhite valve guides and they only list one for both In and Ex. I've seen somewhere somebody saying standard inlet and exhaust are interchangeable on the 500's (at a push) Is this the case???

My cases have been vapour blasted and thoroughly cleaned so I'm going the spray paint route with the paint suggested by "the nurse"!!

Have made enquiries, but is very expensive. Have seen powder coated cases which look very nice and also because it's thicker so it covers the blemishes in the aluminum better than that Cerakote, which is only microns thick.
