For those of us who were around in the 70's, this has shades of the original helmet law debate.
On the face of it, it looks like a good idea and I've no doubt that (if it was law) we'd get used to it.
I agree with Matthew though that the deployment mechanism needs a bit of work.

It's possible for fuel to drain into the sump.
It requires a stuck float (or floats) and blocked carb overflows.
The fuel either ends up in the airbox or in the engine. In the engine it soon drains down past the rings into the sump.
I've never seen it but there are some on sohc.net who have...

I'll bet he doesn't know he's called "Mr TT" over here.
Must be our British politeness...

If you hang around here for a while you will recognise Bryan's replies (short and always correct!)

Hondas of that era didn't have colour code as such (just a code that a Japanese subcontractor could use in the production process) so I'm afraid that the code itself is meaningless.
I don't know much about 650s - but there are plenty on here who do. (and they'll be along soon)

Hi John.
I was down your way yesterday (on my Sprint - not my 500/4...). Lovely day for a ride and loads of bikes out on the A272!

Hi Colin.
You'll find a bunch of 400/4 owners up your way (most of them are called Dave)

I doubt it. Why don't you offer it up and see what the obvious differences are?

Hello Paul. I'm afraid that 500/4s (and Hinckley Triumphs) are my passion... Post some pictures! Gixxer eh? - bet you don't ride the Honda very much! (I did about 10 miles on mine last year

I guess you either go the "solvent route" or the "acid route"
For acid - Coke is about as cheap as it comes!

Too bad even for the IAM...
I've just had my Rider Skills Assessment (I'm training to be an IAM Observer) postponed until next weekend.
Mind you, if he hadn't called, I would have called him!

I bought a gallon of cellulose thinners from Kempton Park Autojumble last year.
It's nasty but good on fuel varnish.
