nice work. i wish i had room for a lathe.  for my 750 clocks i used 4" soil pipe which is pretty much spot on to sit them in while impaling myself on a regular basis with a screwdriver...

Desperately Seeking!! / 750 electrics
« on: November 05, 2022, 02:52:00 PM »
my two 78 750 f2s electrics are in an atrocious condition so if you have any bits such as regulator, rectifier, fuze holder etc in presentable condition, let me know.  both battery carriers are ok and painted.   many thanks

thanks. the voltage regulator on one of my bikes is seriously rusty but i have seen aftermarket reg/recs on sale. i know very little about electrics so how do i go about fitting one? my honda britain has all standard parts but the phil read rep is a mess, and i'm not bothered about standard as long as it's reliable

Misc / Open / Re: Can you sucessfully powder coat pitted chromed parts.
« on: September 17, 2022, 11:30:32 AM »
straight answer is no. for them to remove pitting would mean polishing it out and the thickness would be compromized, and it never ends up smooth. but if youre not bothered about the pitting showing through, then go for it
