Hi all,

Private Messaging (PM) appears to be working OK, for thoses of you that don't know you can send a Private message to another member by means of the buttom to the left.

I've added a \"Blogging\" component for you, use it to tell us your life story, as a diary for your build, ride outs whatever, \"NO PORN - or RACIST\" remarks please, I know you wouldn't but I have to ask.

If any of you do blog, or want to comment on a blog there is a new forum board for that purpose.

That's all for now.

CB750 / Last ride of the year
« on: December 31, 2006, 12:01:16 PM »
In my very biased opinion, Lincolnshire has some of the best roads for biking in Britain.

Just taken my 750F out for a last ride befor new year, 40 mile round trip, absolutly marvellous. I can start making a list of problems to fix next year.

A bit damp, but very little traffic and no \"Blitz Boys\" on thier crotch rockets.

Up the A15 from where I live, 5 straight miles at a steady 60 - 70. On to some back roads to Market Rasen, nice curves and some slow riding through a few villages.

-- Problem 1 -- Jumps from 3rd and 4th into a false neutral, when slow riding.

From Market Rasen on to the A46 and cruise down one of my favourite bits of road. The A46 after Faldingworth Village has some long left, right, left sweeping bends, that on the F can be taken comfortably and 60mph with no gear changing.

-- Problem 2 -- Slight sway on the front end when leaning into a bend at over 50

Back home on a few more back roads.

-- Problem 3 -- Back brake beginning to bind.

Well that's it, A great ride, and only a few niggles to sort out in the new year.

Misc / Open / Can't find how to lift the seat - CB650
« on: December 28, 2006, 04:05:00 PM »
Ok, stop laughing, I mean it stop laughing...

I've just bought a 1984/5 CB650 nighthawk, (yes I know it's a DOHC, but this is my website.....).

The guy round the corner, is emigrating to OZ and decided to sell his 1984/5 NightHawk, 300 squids, I thought it was a bargin.

Thing is  I can't find the battery, yes it has one the lights come on when you turn the key.

So are there any NightHawk owners, that could tell me how to get to the battery, so I can charge it.

I noticed, that whenever any new member posted a topic to the forum, Jim would ask if they were in the UK and where?

So Jim, inspired by you is the Honda-SOHC UK Member map.

It's just basic at the moment, so please bare with me, any comments or suggestions are welcome, just add them to this thread.

Let's see where we are.

CB750 / It's the simple problems that get you
« on: October 10, 2006, 02:14:11 PM »
I went to the shed yesterday to turn the old girl over, Not ridden her for a week, so I put the key in and \"Nothing\", no Oil light, no neutral light, nothing.

Shit, lift the seat, check the  battery, fully charged, it's one of those odyssey PC310s last for ages - all fine. :)

Check the fuses - all OK :(

Lift the tank to check the looms ground, (Had problems there in the past) No, fine.

Getting desperate now - decided to haul it outside to have a look in the daylight. - Won't budge

!Bing! It's in gear, so I get it into neutral, On comes the Green Light, Take a look at the oil pressure switch and the cable has come off (snapped) Fix that. Push the button and starts first time.

Oh the joys of classic mechanics.

The Site was down today do to a hacking attempt, Some script kiddie discovered  a security hole in the file upload part of the forum so the site was used as a spam server.

For now all file image and avatar uploads have been disabled and the offending scripts have been removed.

All I think is now OK, I just have a big bandwidth bill to pay.

Many thanks for you support

John
