Title: Flanged tappet covers
Post by: Moxey on February 07, 2019, 10:08:20 AM
Noticed these on an F2 motor for sale on the Bay, are they just flashy tappet covers/period tat or some kind of external oil feed adapters?

Rather damaged period tat by the look of it. I must confess though that I had a set many moons ago.
Is that a crack in cam cover I see?

Ah I see "flashy" tat ;D, I draw the line at finned points covers myself.

The motor is black its just a bit faded I think.

Hard to tell if its cracked or an exposed casting.

It's 1970's alloy finned period tat introduced prior to the invention of 1990's anodized period tat. Apparently and despite advertising claims to the contrary, adding period tat does not make a motorcycle go any faster.....
