I need to replace my chain and sprocket on a 76 F1. Has anyone tried the David Silver standad ones? If not, any recommendations?
-
I've always used D.I.D, mainly through force of habit I think, never had any problems, and mileage on my past bikes has always been good.
I aways try to replace in sets, So Full Set first, Then chain then sprockets (in Pairs never just one) then a Full set again.

John,
Thanks. Is that for both sprockets and chain?
Do you use a 530, which I believe is standard on the F1?
Jim.

Yes that price was for a set, chain and both sprokets, I've not had to buy one for the f yet

Can't say that I've ever heard of a duplex chain setup on one of these sohc Hondas.

Yeah the F1 uses a 530
I've always used a cheap riveted-on O-Ring.
Never had a problem.
And ebays got some super cheap sprockets to offer.
Just make sure you get the right patterns.

Take a look here for more views on duplex chains:

Hallo,
Again about the duplex.
I offered one for my F1 in 1977 and it came from Italy.
To see the chain, look here:

Search then for: aanpassingen.
Paul.

Looks pretty cool but as I don't speak Dutch I haven't a clue what it says!
I'm with Mike Rieck, a modern 530 chain is probably stronger than the duplex 520 of the 70's.
