Headstock spanner or socket Bryan? I've actually got one of those, genuine as well.

I have the CB1300 that the 1100 is bases on.

According to my mate, who's still a motorcycle mechanic, the 1100 is not a great bike, the exhausts are quite restrictive, it lacks real power, unlike the 1300 which has an abundance on tap, and unless you get the 6 gear version you're always trying to go for a sixth gear. Which I must admit the 1300 suffered from as well until I fitted a digital gear display.

I'd avoid, that many owners in such a short time tells a story.

I'd try and run a tap down them first Nigel, if possible start at the bottom eg from the combustion chamber. I've salvaged a couple with cross threads, it depends on how badly the threads are chewed up and how far down they got the plug before they realised. Starting at the bottom means it's centred as it reaches the damaged threads, otherwise you may make the damage worse.

A Time-Sert is best for heads, helicoils are ok and I've done quite a few over the years with great success but there is always a chance the insert will come out with the plug at some point. If going Helicoil way insert it with thread lock as security.

Any small engineering place should be able to repair the head.

I have titanium hero blobs now on my CB1300, they spark if you ground them. Looks really cool at night. So they tell me.

My friend had the same style bike, same colour but a 125. Got written off when a Police car just "Didn't see him coming" and hit him head on, on the wrong side of the road.

If you fancy 4 new ones, then Pietparts has 4 in stock as well.

Dealt with Peter before and he's good.

How about you get both and I'll give you 2 of mine, that way I still have one for anyone else in the future.
