Hi Guys,
The hubs and spokes, paticularly the rear could do with a good clean in the centre. Not looking to polish things like the cooling fins on the hub but just to give everything a nice clean look around the centre of the wheel, like when you have just rebuilt one.
Having been out of motorcycling for many years I wondered if you have found any liquid spray non abrasive methods or similar that will reach areas your fingers won't get to. ?
How do you do yours. ?
Thanks :)

I found pantyhose and a dab of Autosol quite useful on such hard to get areas...

And what cloth do you use? :P

Back in the day one of my push bikes had a leather type band inside the hubs that kept them clean probably not advisable on a motor cycle.

As I wrote: nylons/pantyhose ;)
Long, stretchy, really rigid hence abrasive fabric... easy to wrap around things and polish in back and forth motion... brilliant for spokes, fork tubes...

Thanks ST1100,
Thats a good idea, I like the lateral thinking. Going to put it on the list and see if my wife has a good stock of used ones to recycle my way. !!
Cheers ;) :)

Does anyone know of a spray solution that would chemically clean and wash off without being too invasive ?

Nicked it from an MG-forum... spoked wheels and that... ;)

Dunno if "descaling" agents like Cilit Bang are not too aggressive for aluminum...

I would imagine that any degreaser ( eg Muc-Off) would be a good place to start.

Pretty sure a toothbrush and Solvol were involved when I did mine, plus bruised and scratched fingers.
