Ok, so just 1,6mm wide "wall' really small - let's see what they say
Do you know also "thickness"?

I'll try and source another grade of felt Erny, I've broken quite a few on the choke arms BUT the last ones were much better. Bryan found them easy to break BUT TBH I found them ok but then I've had far more practice with how the break, what causes them to break so I can understand why Bryan found them hard to fit.

Watch this space.

No harm in asking the firm I suppose but it could be a problem if say they make a few hundred for you and then you find they also break easily and then you're stuck with a set of really small, really expensive doilies.

I'll ask them - not sure I missed some info, did not find it quicky - what are required dimensions I shall ask please?

Hi Ken,

anything new on this topic with felt washers?

I can check with local company who did D-rings last time, maybe they can do also these felt washers too?

Ah, those hero blobs... had to replace long originals on my CB1000R by short ones, very annoying already in the first corner of the racetrack, but then next to come was brake lever and blobs remained untouched ;D

I have titanium hero blobs now on my CB1300, they spark if you ground them. Looks really cool at night. So they tell me.

Yes, in your case I would accept black too, but for my bike I think chrome would be better  ;)

Prices are raising in Slovakia too, but in 1-2 years timeframe will be even higher, so sooner the better..

CB500/550 / Koni shocks - rebuild info
« on: September 25, 2022, 08:28:48 PM »
Bought set of these length exactly as OEM on my 550K1.

Before installing them, I'd like to perform detailed cleaning and thinking if it is worth to rebuild them. But don't have any info about even do not know exact type.
Also thinking to send spring for chroming..

Any advices, addtional info?

After loooong time (yes, more than 3 years!) I'd like to update this thread.

Up-shifting issues is still there, getting a bit worse now.

Meanwhile I was testing and testing.. my findings:
- only pb is in up-shifting (down-shifting seems to be normal to me, w/o any fail)
- issue is present ONLY when using clutch
- while up-shifting w/o clutch (short trottle release and quick lever moving up), it works perfect, smooth, even in lower RPMs
- when starting up from zero (for example when standing on traffic lights), while fluently releasing clutch as normal, bike starts to pull, but when clutch becomes fully engaged bike "kicks" (not sure how to describe it better, as English is not my native language...). This was present since I got the bike but I attributed it to hardened rubbers in rear wheel sproket carrier. Now having those rubbers new, I know it is something in engine/clutch.

Considering all above, I suspect it is clutch responsible for those issues, so I need to check it (winter project)

I tried to search quickly forum, did not find similar problem described - do you have some idea what is wrong?
Or, at least, recommend what I should be prepared prior opening engine (clutch cover)? I already have new gasket ready...

Thanks

Desperately Seeking!! / Wanted nice ND tach for my 550K1
« on: August 07, 2022, 11:27:33 PM »
Looking for nice, original, 100% working tacho (RPM meter) for my 550K1, green colour, brand ND - like one on attached photo (these are my gauges).
My tacho is "hanging", means when I close trottle, it takes quite some time hand lowers down... Also on opposite, when revving up, there is delay till hand react and raises up, so looking for replacement original.
