CB750 / Re: carb rebuild anything I should look out for ?

Hi,
You do not say if the kits are copies or Honda.I have seen lots on other forums that the copies the needle jets are not the same and can have running problems just as I have.I always thought that the clip goes on the middle ring but alot put it back as they found it.I will soon be fitting new Honda needles and will let all know if it fixed my problem and if so what my problem was with these after market kits.
Good Luck

CB750 / Re: cam shaft oil starvation
« on: January 17, 2012, 09:35:55 AM »
Hi.
Under the cam carrier there should be 4 little o rings even though there is no hole for 2 this I believe is to keep the pressure up by sealing between the carrier and head. The oil comes out through the re stricter and then travels through the cam carrier and squirts out at pressure over the cam etc.Blow out the cam carriers with air.Did you use gasket goo?Too much can block the oil coming up the main oil studs.Hope this helps.
All the best

Thanks steff750 I do remember some plastic thing on top that you could pull off and expose the screw.I did not know it was the k6 though.I have a french model k6 with k2 carbs on,maybe some previous owner changed them.Again thanks.

Hi,
Thanks to all for there help.Looked around at various sites some say keyster are great some do not.
One guy had trouble with the airscrews.Others needles and gaskets so weekend will replace with the originals and see what happens.I have always thought the Honda parts are the best.

Hi seamus.
Thanks for that,no they are the new keysters and I had to raise them one notch to stop them sticking slightly.Slow jets are 40s already and I did the float heights with a Honda gauge to spec 26mm if I remember right. The air screws at best are only a half turn out anymore and the tickover starts to mess about.I have also tried 105 and 110 main jets same problem.
Many thanks

CB750 / 750 k6 carbs
« on: November 24, 2011, 11:30:19 AM »
Hi to All,
Can anyone suggest a cure to my problem? It is doing my head in, totally restored sonic cleaned, completely renewed internals, timing, balance all spot on.
From cold runs spot on until its warm. When coming to a stop with throttle shut ticks over great go to pull away and she stutters and then goes like a rocket all through the rev range until you stop again. At first I thought it could be weak mixture but from cold its fine and I think if its weak it would jerk about but it does not.Plugs colour grey to tan not white or black.Apart from this problem its as good as I can remember back in the 70s when I had a k2.Everything from the head to the rear of airbox has been renewed. The carbs are off a French model k6 and the motor is US k4.I am open to all suggestions.
many thanks
