Well, after my stroke last June I've finally started driving again last Friday, all a bit weird at first after just over a year of not driving. Still haven't got my licence back from the DVLA yet but they said I could drive on a Section 88 with my GP's approval while my reapplication is being processed - they're currently up to 8 weeks behind.
But it will be a little while longer before I start riding again as I promised my wife I wouldn't jump straight back on a bike, so hopefully I'll be back behind bars soon and my riding days are not behind me - time will tell.........

Just refitting the brake caliper adjuster spring and found two D washers in the same bag, it seems there's a 6mm plain washer missing but wondered where these D washers are from?

A milestone day today: many of you may recall I had a stroke in late June last year, and because I also had a number of absence seizures, the last on 2 July, I voluntarily surrendered my driving licence to the DVLA for a year.
Well, although navigating the reapplication process on the DVLA website and completing the various forms has been a nightmare, the DVLA don’t make it easy! The DV1 form has been completed, along with the correct (!!) medical questionnaire, supporting medical evidence and a supporting letter from my employer (Army HQ Andover) the tracked package was posted off yesterday and received by the DVLA today, so all being well the DVLA will expedite my reapplication and I will be driving my TRs from 2 July, and riding my motorbikes a few weeks later; I promised Bev I wouldn’t jump straight back on the bikes until I regained at least some modicum of roadcraft in the cars first……
The next Milestone will be returning to work, hopefully in June or July.

I've been putting together a Blurb photo book of my old 70's biker days for a while now along with the creative talents of a good friend, so have been taking photos of some of my 70's memorabilia - here's my old AGV X3000 I had painted in Stevie Baker colours (US works Yamaha GP rider of the 70's) next to my Arai Chaser V, were our heads really that small back then??.............but the AGV still fits though!

A bunch of us went to see 'On Any Sunday' at small independent cinema in Soho in 1974 and this film is was what got me into the dirtbike and motocross scene in the mid-70's. Most bikers from that era will probably know about this film or would have seen it, but if not.... Can't wait to get my licence back on 2nd July although due to CV-19 the DVLA have currently suspended reapplications (D1 pack) for licences surrendered on medical grounds, so I guess I'll get it back when this lockdown ends. Still, it could be worse.

In these uncertain and anxious health times at home and across the world, I thought I would look back with a smile and fond memories when my wife (Bev) and I drove our TR6 on a 3 week/3,000 mile Euro tour in June 2019. Pulled the rear wheel and right exhausts off the other week when the sun came out and ever since it's poured down with rain!
The sun made another rare appearance today, so rolled the TR6 out of the garage to make space and set about cleaning the K1's right side engine's nooks 'n' crannies and the swinging arm - happy with the results so far. I now just need a good few dry days to pull the left exhausts off and clean that side..........but that's some hope going by the 7-day forecast.
