I've had it since 88 and my wife bought it off me for a Pound just in case I lost my mind and sold it 😜

Yes, thanks both it was a nice day and warm too. I was running in with only 160 miles on the engine so was going slowly. That sort of distance is the limit of my endurance at 66 and timewise between the 0835 ferry in and the 1715 ferry back

Love your candy gold 550 Julie, what a nice bike . I'd kinda like to have one too 😁

Out on the K3 at Shiel Bridge after a lovely ride from Oban to Fort William then Invergarry in past Cluanie Dam and down Glen Shiel. Then back for the 17.15 ferry , bike ran well but I was aching for the last forty of the 214 miles. [ Guests cannot view attachments ]

Hey Matt

Here's two pics, the seat cover isn't fitted well either but has a good base no rust. I've just bought the oe exhaust from DS and a pair of shocks too.

Johnny4428 Hi 😉 Yes I love starting a new project, it's going to be nice...I'll start taking off bits tomorrow 👍

Hi folks

I've decided to start on my K7...it's an American import with some scabby engine paint and rusty frame along with a loud Delkevic four into one. The chrome is very good for its age too good to send away for redoing and the previous owner had done the paint which is well finished but slightly lighter and more purple than standard. I might just stick with it....in the next month I'm going to strip it down. I'll be posting pics as I go...

Kind regards

Shuggie

Hope you don’t mind me saying Shuggie, your throttle cables routing on the 750 could be improved on. Also make sure that top yoke pinch bolt spacer washers are fitted. Not sure by the photo if they are there or not.

No, I don't mind at all. I'll have another look at the cable routing , I just ran them that way as they ran smoothly, I have some cable routing diagrams. As far as those top yoke spacers with a flat on one edge, I think I have them but they aren't fitted you're right Johnny. It is an old photo and I'll look to see if the cable routing is now right. Thanks 👍

Hi Huw,
Glad you found us eventually - they are a very knowledgeable and friendly bunch here and like lots of picture progress when you get round to doing that.  Sorry I didn't get to meet up this year for a ride but hopefully there might be chances in future.

Will ring for another yarn when we get back,
Ian and Chris

Hi Folks

I live on one of the islands and own two single cam Honda Fours. I started out with a CB500Four in 1977,Candy gold, that was a lovely bike and I did 20,000 miles on her.

I now own a CB750K4 1974 and a CB550K3 1978 both of which I have restored. I restored the K3 in 1990 and the K4 in 1998, I love both and they are both keepers.

I've just bought an American import CB750K7 which i'm going to get running over August and then strip in down in winter 2024. Its quite clean and the PO did a bit to it including the paintwork so its not a major job. It has just 10,500 miles on it . I'll start a thread when i'm doing it

Kind regards

Shuggie ( Hubert)
