Are there any other Silencers apart from the Jama ones that will fit the bike ?.

I see there are various exhausts at half the Jama price (

CB650 / CV choke

I've got the carbs off, and cleaned the debris out of the float bowls and checked the jets, but I would like to know the enrichment on No 2 carb is clear.

Without taking the whole rack apart is there an easy way to check on this ?

Thanks

CB650 / Haynes Manual.
« on: May 26, 2010, 04:50:20 PM »

My Haynes 'book of lies' is for the 78 - 81 model, but I see they did a reprint afterwards for 78 - 84 model years.

Could some good soul on here please confirm if the later edition gives any real information over and above the first printing, in respect of whats in/on a 1983 CB650SC-C Nighthawk.

Many thanks

CB650 / Fork Seals
« on: May 26, 2010, 04:43:20 PM »

Just ordered a set of seals and dust covers, is there anything special to look out for on these bikes ?

Aim to fit a set of progressive springs in due course, has anyone got any views re wether to go Progressive (themseves) or Hyperpro ?

Thanks

CB650 / Ignition Switch
« on: May 26, 2010, 12:06:26 AM »

I find my ignition switch accepts the key and turns and I can hear the contacts moving at the bottom, but its not making an electrical path.

Most likely cause is that it's sat for a few years and the contacts have got damp and corroded away.

Looking at the switch the plastic housing for the contact at the bottom is held on by 3 plastic tags on the circumference of the lock, and I could possibly prise off the end.

If I do that, is the bottom 'contact' part available as spare ?, or is the whole lock fubar ?

Hi, having found a CB650SC-C at the back of a garage (mine ::)),  I am desperately trying to get it into rideable condition for a rally in 2 weeks time. So I have jumped in with questions first  :-[.

Anyway, I intend to bring it up to working order probably with a lot of help from on here  ;D.

Ciao

CB650 / CB650 wheels
« on: May 24, 2010, 05:32:23 PM »

Would any of you good folks know if wheels from a later Honda or anything else, that would take a radial tyre, can be easily fitted (to a '83' SC-C), especially the back wheel  :) ?.

Ideally keeping the twin discs up front and drum rear, but not absolutely so  ;D ?

Many thanks

MC
