CB650 / Re: Ignition Switch
« on: May 26, 2010, 09:10:03 AM »

Thanks, I suspected as much  :(

By Wemoto I guess we're talking about M&P, Buster etc as that was who I was going to go with.

However Busters list the same part number (Product Code: IGS735725) for the CB650Z as they do for the CB650SCC, although the SCC also has the steering lock incorporated, is that right ?

CB650 / Ignition Switch
« on: May 26, 2010, 12:06:26 AM »

I find my ignition switch accepts the key and turns and I can hear the contacts moving at the bottom, but its not making an electrical path.

Most likely cause is that it's sat for a few years and the contacts have got damp and corroded away.

Looking at the switch the plastic housing for the contact at the bottom is held on by 3 plastic tags on the circumference of the lock, and I could possibly prise off the end.

If I do that, is the bottom 'contact' part available as spare ?, or is the whole lock fubar ?

Hi, having found a CB650SC-C at the back of a garage (mine ::)),  I am desperately trying to get it into rideable condition for a rally in 2 weeks time. So I have jumped in with questions first  :-[.

Anyway, I intend to bring it up to working order probably with a lot of help from on here  ;D.

Ciao

CB650 / Re: CB650 wheels

Thanks, but it's not the clearance thats the limiting factor, its finding a radial that goes on a 2.5" rim.

The minimum rim for most (all ?) rear radial tyres is 3.5".  Hence the question, what other wheels fit ?

That's good news :).  So what size radial tyre would you recommend fitting to a 2.5x16 rear rim then ?

CB650 / CB650 wheels

Would any of you good folks know if wheels from a later Honda or anything else, that would take a radial tyre, can be easily fitted (to a '83' SC-C), especially the back wheel  :) ?.

Ideally keeping the twin discs up front and drum rear, but not absolutely so  ;D ?

Many thanks
