Delkevic came with everything inc copper gaskets collets, clamps etc. I am loathed to pack these for a courier to collect and possibly damage. Terms are collection from PO20 area just South of Chicherster. Thanks, Geoff.

I have a set of HM323 exhausts hanging in my bike cave. They were taken off my CB550 K0 that I bought from James in Sussex. I believe they are David Silver ones which currently retail for £1095 with fitting kit. All parts to mount them are included (rubbers, brackets, clamps etc etc). Gaskets would need sourcing. The exhausts are in excellent condition with no rust. Only reason for sale is I fitted a Delkevic 4-1 (heathen) to replicate a bike I had in my youth. I`ll never refit them and my GT550 needs new pipes so thought I`d offer these.

Price is £750 firm collection only from Chichester West Sussex.

Hi Geoff. I sell the full Viton O ring carb kits for the 550K0, that's if you have the standard carbs fitted of course. I'm assuming you didn't buy the kit off me originally 🤔🤔🤔 Never had any complaints about bits not fitting 😂😂😂

Thanks, yes I`ve seen your kit on Ebay and no that`s not where I got them from. I only need main jet and float valve rings as the others are correct. Where best for float valves ? Mine look like they have a ring on them and I have suffered leaks.

CB500/550 / Carb O-Rings & Float Valves

Hi all, am currently overhauling the carbs on my CB550K0 after it had been left standing too long and then wouldn`t start.

Bought overhaul kits some time ago and half the parts are wrong.

Can anyone confirm o-ring sizes for main jet and float valve ?
Also actually probably do need 4 new float valves, where can I get the correct ones ? which hopefully will come with o-rings...... Half the advertisers haven`t a clue.

Thanks,

Geoff

Misc / Open / Re: Replacing tyres yourself, any tips?
« on: March 11, 2022, 06:54:51 AM »
I now do my own tyres after buying a cheap manual bead breaker, decent tyre levers, bead seal (for tubeless) and tyre soap. Last summer I changed the tyres on my Vmax and the satisfaction from doing it yourself is very pleasing. Balancing is easy. Balancing tool very cheap and tyres have a dot on them which depending on colour/brand goes next to or opposite the valve. Have also done tubed tyres on my Z900 and XS1100 (got through a couple of pinched tubes mind).

Go for it, do it yourself, you`ll be so happy when you succeed.

I use an Abba front wheel chock on my 550 and it`s fine. Great quality and sensibly priced. Have also had a 1700 Vmax on it with no issues at all.

CB500/550 / Re: CB550 K0 Fuel Tap - Dumb Question
« on: February 16, 2022, 11:52:19 AM »
Thanks, my test was with 2 short lengths of neoprene tube attached to the fuel tap into a container. Tubes hanging vertical. However, there was less than 5L fuel in the tank. The bike took an absolute age to fire up last week and then lacked power. Now that the tank is drained I will try blowing up each pipe with the other blocked and the fuel tap still fitted to the tank. I`ll also take a look at the fuel tap filter. Perhaps I should keep the tank full to aid gravity feed.

CB500/550 / CB550 K0 Fuel Tap - Dumb Question
« on: February 16, 2022, 07:48:33 AM »
Last week after several months lay up the CB550 was a pig to start and then lacked mid-range. I overhauled the carbs not that long ago but suspected fuel starvation. Went to drain the fuel to replace with fresh and fuel only coming out of one outlet when tubes connected to tap into a petrol can. This is with tap in ON or RES position. Fuel flows from one tube and the other just gurgles as if venting. Makes no difference if tank filler cap open or closed. Surely fuel should be coming from both outlets ? Tap was brand new OEM from DSS about 18 months ago.

Thanks for any help. Gonna play further this evening.

I had the same 3 years ag on my Vmax. Driver claimed it was my fault and provided dodgy invoice for £2k damage to her car. Claimed I rolled back into her. She got a no win no fee solicitor and they pushed me to pay up. It went to court and they didn`t expect me to show. I did show and she didn`t with some lame excuse. Case went ahead in her absence and I won. cLEARLY A SCAMMER. My insurance recouped the £2.25k they had paid me to fix my bike. TRUST NOBODY !

I don`t have a camera but always carry a mobile to take photos etc. I got hit from behind on my Vmax while I was stationery in a queue of traffic at a roundabout. The Nigerian lady in the 4 x 4 claimed jumped out and said "look what you`ve done to my car (number plate had fallen off that was all). She claimed I "reversed" into her and got a no win no fee company involved. She got a dodgy invoice from a garage for new bumper and radiator totalling about £2,500. Her NWNF company Irwin Mitchell tried to get me to settle out of court and go 50/50. I wouldn`t. They didn`t think I`d show but I did. She didn`t show up and even the judge felt her claim was ridiculous. Her brief was made to look a bloody fool and case went my way. Was extremely stressful but there was no way it was my fault what so ever. Got the Vmax repaired and ended up about £1200 in pocket.

I had the same 2 years ago on my Vmax. driver leapt out and accused me of damaging her car. Claimed I rolled back ! My insurance paid me out to fix the bike then she took ME to court claiming £2250 damager to her 4 x 4 inc new radiator and bumper. She had provided a dodgy repair invoice. Her insurers initially offered 50/50 to settle I declined. She thought I wouldn`t go to court but I did. She was a no show so it went in my favour and her insurance had to re-imburse mine. Even the judge and her brief couldn`t believe it. All I will say is that she was of Nigerian appearance.
