Title: Sandcast and 'normal' 750 Frame Difference?
Post by: Andrew-S on May 20, 2021, 10:16:19 AM
This video about Sandcast identification popped up on my YouTube feed and at 5.05 he refers to the sandcast frame having welded gussets onto the frame to support the shocks which is different to the 'normal' production 750s, so I've just checked my 11/70 K1 and it has the same gussets (albeit slightly tidier welding), is he correct or did some K1's have leftover K0 frames?

Or do all K series have this welded gusset?

Andrew. All of the K frame have the gusset present; it's just much smaller on the sandcast / late '69 K0 bikes. I imagine your K1 will have the later 'larger' gusset.

Many thanks James, and in the words of Benny Hill: "learning all the time'.  :)
