Title: Hi from Essex
Post by: miclyn on February 28, 2012, 05:10:22 PM
Joined a couple of weeks ago so thought i would introduce myself. I have a CB550F2 Supersport 1977 and a CB750F2 Supersport 1978 and a 1996 Triumph Thunderbird. Both Honda's are being worked on at the moment. Several items are being re-chromed then hopefully i can get them back on the road. I must say the forum is a great place for help and everyone is really friendly. Is there anybody nearby, I live in Upminster, Essex,
 Cheers Mike

Hi Pete
Not sure yet. The guy has very good feedback on classic car sites and he's local in Grays. He's had a problem with the 550 front mudguard. When he stripped off the chrome it was badly rusted under each stay where they spot weld supports on the underside. He has a guy who's welding pieces in so as yet don't know what it will look like. New one from DDS is £240 plus.

Hi Mike,

I'm not a million miles away - in Hertford, so just round the M25 and up a bit!
Welcome aboard.
Andy

Pete i was quoted £60 for the front until the pin holes were found and £45 for the rear. Small items like the rear light are £10, but i will reserve judgement until i get them back.
