CB500/550 / Engine question
« on: October 07, 2015, 01:07:19 PM »
Hi all
I run a 400/4 in the CRMC parades, and whilst it is a lovely machine I would like a little more down the straights.
Can anyone tell me whether a 500/4 engine would slot straight into the frame, or what my best option would be?
Many thanks in advance.

Thanks very much for all the replies guys.
Always good to hear that it is worth checking something simple(r) 1st.
As for the foot riding on the gear lever, I don't think it will be that as I always move my foot back so that the ball of my foot is on the peg. But will look at all this once I get into the nitty gritty.
Thanks once again to all who replied.

CB350/400 / Gearbox removal
« on: October 15, 2014, 10:10:58 AM »
Hi all,
I need the help of the assembled knowledgeable people on this here forum.
At my last race meeting of the year, the 400 kept jumping out of 4th gear, when under hard acceleration, back into 3rd.
Is this a known issue, and if so does it mean gearbox out to rectify.
Next question would be, is this a difficult job? i.e. does the engine have to come out 1st?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Mickwinf,
Sorry mate I had a good look in all my boxes, but I'm afraid the grab handle has gone.

Thanks for the replies guys, that's certainly given me an idea of what I should be looking for.
Mickwinf, I'll have a look in my box of bits that I have left over for you and let you know.
Cheers

Ok guys,
Here are some pic's of the tank I would like to sell.
It has no dents on it, but it does have a couple of small chips in the paint.
Any ideas on how much to ask for it?
Cheers

I will get some pictures up for others to inspect, but it will have to wait until I return from my holiday.
Thanks again.

CB350/400 / 400/4 Tank
« on: July 11, 2014, 03:26:40 PM »
Hi all
Now that I have fully converted my bike to race trim, I am thinking of getting rid of some of the bits that I won't use again.
Can anyone tell me what petrol tanks go for these days, it's in pretty good condition and is the original one from the bike.
I also have things like front and rear mudguards and the grab handle.
Thanks
Ian

CB350/400 / 400/4 Carb Main Jets
« on: May 20, 2014, 10:25:03 AM »
Hi all
Does anyone know where I might be able to get some oversized main jets for my race spec'd 400.
DS can supply 1 size over but I would like 2 or 3 sizes over standard, due to the work I have done, and more planned also.
Many thanks in advance.
