« on: February 11, 2022, 04:48:51 PM »
Bought a CB450 tank, think its K1.
Needs an overhaul

Some questions to you:

I fancy mounting it to my Cl 450 K5. WIll tthat fit in adition with a CB450K5 seat?

Thanks in advance!

That's one nice bike. As it's a later bike, as in not a bomber, I think the covers may also have been a dull polish but not totally sure.

Thanks.

Yes, HONDA might have changed that on later models.

I´d say, front has been dull polished and clear coated, rear one been painted silver

Looks if your tax authorities are completely taken by surprise by #@%$.

Edit: nice auto-correction!

And to complicate matters further the VAT procedure from 1st July 2021 is due to change:-

Imported consignments of goods not exceeding £135 are subject to sales (supply) VAT instead of import VAT.
This should be charged to the UK consumer by the UK or non-UK seller in the checkout at the point-of-sale.

The seller must then report and pay the collected VAT through a regular UK VAT return.
A simplified customs declaration will still be required. Goods above this value are be subject to VAT and customs in the old way.

So I think we pay the sales VAT directly to the seller instead of the shipping company or Royal Mail.
I suppose this makes things a little easier in the UK when buying stuff from the EU and vice versa...

i´say it depends if the seller is a private person or a company.

BTW: linky no worky

Meanwhile some info for those of us residing in the EU.

Getting stuff from the UK is obviously no longer going to be as cheap, but at least DS has made it simpler and easier with his DDP system. (Delivered Duty Paid).

  https://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/terms-and-conditions/

As far as I understand, getting parts from David Silver here in G will be  around + 4%:

Sales price excluding UK VAT (-20%) + German VAT + 19% + German customs duty +5 = + 4% in toto

Other Bikes / Re: 84' Vf1000F Interceptor
« on: December 08, 2020, 12:42:22 PM »
I had a VF1000F for some years. Good bike.

Had the carbs off (for changing form 98hp to full power)  but then putting them back was a nightmare.
The interceptor looked far better but had that pitting problems with the cams.

CB750 / Double disk for CB750 four K0
« on: November 05, 2020, 07:20:28 PM »
Probably been asked several times....

I want to give my 750 K0 (with wider k0 hub!) a second front disk.

What do I need on the axle (apart from longer bolts): another speedodirve and/or anotherNr. 8 and/ or another No 9 ?

If so, need the parts.

Thanks in advance

Referring to that "Super Profile" 750four booklet from the early 80th (that was my bible when I did my first K0) I learned those transition K0 had later K1 airfilter case. But that might be not correct.
