Hi Guys I came across the same thing this weekend. This time it was a Norvin that stated selling for someone else and contact the seller direct via email. The text stated would accept £2000 which obviously grabs the eye. I emailed the person asking where bike was located but the ad was ended and re-posted stating £3000. I got a reply saying it was up it was in Aberdeen and that it was her recently passed away fathers bike and that she lived in Greece and so would have bike delivered if I was interested - all I would have to do is give my name and address for delivery and when money was received via ebay (she wanted to complete via ebay for our mutual protection!) she would arrange for delivery. The ad had disappeared again at this stage. Now Norvins don't come along at £3k so in the mean time I did some research and the bike had been sold on ebay in October for £7k plus in Coventry and prior to that it was advertised for £10,950 in Essex! I emailed them saying I was reporting it to ebay (that's another story - its like trying to platt fog trying to contact ebay!) - naturally, I didn't get a reply. If it looks to good to be true - it probably is! So be careful - I think the scams about getting names and address' as I'm sure nobody would part with that amount of cash without seeing the bike? Hi Guys Have posted a question on 836 big bore kit and thanks to everyone for their advice. So after trawling through previous posts on kit from Japan on ebay, I've decided to go for an 836 kit from Japan that runs standard compression (purely as its cheaper than rebore on original spec pistons). Anybody recommend jetting for 836 big bore kit on standard compression with standard airbox (with the recommended K&N filter in) and standard exhaust? Obviously, I'm looking at a starting point and know it will need to be tweaked - I'm sure someone will have run this set up before? Phil

Hi guys I'm currently rebuilding a basket case cb750k2 and have stripped the motor and am just doing the costings for the rebuild. Have seen a 836 kit on ebay. Could I use a big bore kit with std exhaust and airbox (as I want to keep std look). Only looking at bigbore kit as cost is lot cheaper than std pistons/rings - I'm not bothered about performance. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Phil

Hi Guys I'm undergoing a full restore on a UK 1975 CB750K2 that I've bought last year and having fully rebuilt the forks, discovered (when fitting the chrome fork tops) that the bike seems to fitted with CB500 Four forks! (the CB500 has a threaded rod running from bottom fork leg that screws into the top fork tube nut - after researching CMSL schematics online) Anyway, I've bought a set of early K2 forks to rebuild and as the fork tubes are beyond repair and am looking to buy a new set - probably pattern as i'm going into shock at the amount of money I'm throwing at this project (can't do things by half unfortunataly!). I've seem a set in America on ebay that would work out at about £160 a pair plus import duty. But I've also seen a set for £92.90 post free for 76 - 78 F. ( http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pattern-Front-Fork-Stanchions-to-fit-Honda-CB-750-F-SOHC-76-78-/271172968636?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item3f232b20bc) - Anybody know if I can use them with the K2 fork bottoms? I've put a few pics on of rebuild so far for interest Thanks Phil

Thanks Mick and Dave
What engine paint have you used Dave - looks good. I've done crankcases in in silver smooth Hammerite after looking at various post. My basket case rebuild has heavily corroded cases and as I try to do all the work myself, have had to really hard at getting the rocker cover polished - yours looks well polished, any tips?
Thanks again guys
Phil

Hi Guys Can anybody tell me whether the clutch cover casting (what the chrome cover screws to) on a UK model CB750K2 should be polished or painted the same colour as the crankcases? Thanks Phil

Thanks Mick - think the ones on ebay are same as the old ones I've got (draper) - quite thick numbers - has a quick 'stamp on my steel workbench this morning and indentation thickness looks about twice as thick. Suppose it wouldn't make any difference to an MOT tester - just like things right. I might try and salvage those old corroded crankcases that came with the 'basket case' bike. Thanks again Phil

Does anybody know where I can get the right size stamps from - I (and my dad) used to be engineers) and I have some 1/4 inch stamps from years ago but the letter thickness looks thicker than those on the headstock. Or has anyone got some I could hire/borrow - I live in Wigan, Lancs Thanks again guys Phil

Hi Guys Its my first post and so hope I've done it right! I'm rebuilding a K2 that I bought as a basket case - engine in bits and cases really badly corroded and bits missing. So I decided to buy a complete engine from D&K that was on ebay. But as I had a friend who has a contact at D&K, I got it via him a bit cheaper than advertised on ebay. When it was listed on ebay, they stated engine number that I checked to be a 72 K2. (never made a note of numbers) Anyway, I have stripped it down completely for rebuild and there is no engine number stamped on the cast rectange on the top engine case. The casting has not been ground and still shows the original 'speckled' casting (on the rectangle that the number is normally stamped on). Is the number located somewhere else? How does this affect V5? I didn't get any paperwork, although my mate is seeing if he can get it retrospectively. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Phil
