Title: Which Indicators
Post by: Deano400 on February 10, 2017, 09:04:06 PM: Hi. Some advice sort. I have two types of indicator on my 1978 400. Can someone advise me on which is original if any? Also the mounting brackets are different. I believe the short one is original. Any help appreciated.

I'd go with that too.
Just measured a set I have that came from a 400, shaft length is approx. 65mm.

Post by: Trigger on February 11, 2017, 12:03:42 PM: Seeing that Deano400 has not given the measurements of the stems, all I know is the CB750/CB500 is 25mm and the CB400 is 65mm. Don't know if Honda did a longer stem.
If he has taken the picture on a worktop with 20mm staves, that will give the bottom one as about 25mm.

That would fit with the body of the bracket measuring approx. 70mm.
Hopefully Deano will confirm which one seems to fit with the measurements.

Post by: mike the bike on February 12, 2017, 12:15:06 PM: For more reliable flashing, best add a 0V return lead using the screw inside the indicators, connecting it to the green wires under the seat/headlamp shell.
