Title: Rear brake pedal alignment marks.
Post by: billdn on August 25, 2021, 04:10:26 PM
Should these 2 marks on pedal and shift align or is it just coincidence 🤔.  If so how because the spring doesn't want to go that far under tension.

Yes, that minute little black divot on the end of the shaft lines up with the divot on the lever. You may have to move a spline or two either way for comfort of your foot but the dots are the starting place.

I've just checked my rear brake pedal shaft  - there is no marking aside from the small scratch I enscribed before removal to realign when I refit the pedal.
Likewise there is no spot on the pedal itself either - both I'm pretty sure are original parts.

Confusing as you seem to have two spots one is a small dot the other a circle?

I've just had another look after rubbing the end of the shaft with some fine emery paper and can make out a letter T -it's nowhere near the top either!

My new brake pedal does have a spot like yours though - I havent as yet fitted mine so will be interested to read how you sort it.

Cheers NJ - my pic looks almost identical to yours, so may be a spline or 2 adjustment needed for comfort.
